1. I was reading some posts on the Internet yesterday. A talented Chinese
poet 海子 （Hai Zi） killed himself at the age of 25 about 20 years ago.That
was a shame. I liked his poem "面朝大海，春暖花开", which was a lot more
positive.

we are the boat, we row down the stream of life, we do it gentlly, no fight
with the trend. we do it merrily as we human beings are controlled by maya.
however, i did hear from multiple parents that this means "life is anything
but a dream, you need to form up your own ideas".
i think either way is ok. it really depends on what type of person you are.

your kids show no interest in literature or Chinese, that's also none of my
business. I am just pointing out the way many Chinese learn ancient poems at
a very young age. If you don't like it, that's also very fine.
