耶鲁出版社每年举办Yale Series of Younger Poets competition，搜罗全美国的年轻
诗人的诗作，评选出一位“耶鲁青年诗人”（Yale Young Poet）。这个奖项从1919年
开始设立，是美国历史最长的诗歌奖；历年获得“耶鲁青年诗人”称号的诗人包括
Adrienne Rich, John Ashbery, Jack Gilbert, Jean Valentine和 Robert Hass——
读过Adrienne Rich；她那届的评委是W.H. Auden。Auden从1947年起做过13年评委，是

I am reading "Chinese elegant poems" (zhongguo youxiu shige) "1978-2008
The poems' styles change so big from 1978 to 2008. And after 2000 just so
many li-hua-ti! I think those poets are just trying every way to
find out the road to best 白话文 poems.
btw, Maodun only learn gu-wen before Qin-Han. I am kind of *)(%&$-- I have
to say, it's so difficult for me to read proses before Qin-Han!

有人记得2003年1月在I95高速Fairfield段的车祸吗，一群耶鲁棒球队和橄榄球队的学
生从纽约开车回New Haven，在结冰的路段和一辆失控的卡车拖车相撞，三个学生当场
死亡，重伤的六个学生中又有一个次日不治而亡。当时学校取消了一切体育活动，全校
默哀，管本科生的校长说白头人送黑头人尤其伤心，这些都是风华正茂的最优秀的孩子。
上周末，车祸幸存者之一的Brett Smith在学校教堂Battell Chapel做了个演讲，他刚
刚毕业。他车祸后大脑受损，跟不上耶鲁的学业，就先去一个community college读书
，慢慢恢复。08年再回耶鲁，从头读起，今年学成毕业。他家是教徒，他以前不信教，
因为他爸在空军里做，频繁搬家，所以他从没受洗过。他车祸住院时Battell Chapel的

also knew that poetry, the way it appeared on the page as far as it being
rhyming schemes had become so quaint, a fairly passé presentation of poetry

I believed Li Bai, Du Fu or Su Dongpo, they feel really sad
about the world, but as Chinese culture, they
write a poem, they release the sadness and pressure
in this way. and most important, when you read

It is not so important to have talent in poem:)
coz most of us can not make a living by poems. However, I think the talent
of enjoying poems --or more precisely speaking, enjoying art,is highly
important, coz I can not tell the diffrence between animal and people
without this talent.

1) Not old (though claimed to be old in my work:)
2) A Marathoner -- I am addicted to long distance running
3) A beginner in learning how to write poems (the world of poems is so
deeeeeeep so that I can only learn and can't imagine I can master poems)

今天看了看序言，里面提到，
“诗的翻译是极其重要的事情--即使它是不可能完成的任务。如果我们不能从唐诗、XX
、XX当中去领略到一些什么，那么我们会是多么贫穷啊。” ：）
于是就好奇了，想看看有多少唐诗被翻译过。无意中发现这个网站，居然有唐诗三百首
的英译版本。

poem.
But it's emotion expressed in controled measure that's a good poem. Before
able to write poems in semi-trance state, maybe we should strengthen our
foudations first by writing in fully conscious states and really understand
what kind of emotions we are experiencing.

还怕她一点习惯都没有，等到grade2,3以后有作业就喊累了
我仔细看了一下，那个poem，细细，其实要求不严格
只要说几句，如果rhythem有点接近，就算poem
我是读书的时候发现的，小孩子们经常很得意地说2，3句话，听起来rhythem接近，就

一年级小蹦豆什么的
我们家就有个1st grader 小蹦豆，最苦的就是作业。每天母子俩写个作业写得鼻涕眼
泪一把一把的。苦恼的时候我就回忆，这辈子在中国上的学里，我从来没为作业发过愁
，怎么到儿子这里才是个小蹦豆我的头发就愁白了？
挖了下原因：肯定是作业太难！ 我实在回忆不起自己一年级的时候都做了什么作业。
就说说儿子的作业：
每个星期四发，下个星期五交。不鼓励周末做作业，每个星期做星期一到星期四的。内
容如下：
Monday：作业里提供一首诗，要求背诵。再自己做一首，呀不押韵的不要求
Tu：book review。写书的名字，作者的名字，插图谁画的。要求写开始，结束，将了
什么问题，怎么解决的，有什么人物，什么setting（场景？），你学到了什么。这是
要求写呀，同学们！还要画书里你最喜欢的画面。

8月16日，28岁的何女士高兴地从广西某医院出院了，困扰她3年的频繁呕吐症状终于好了。而在一个多星期前，到广西某医院消化内科求诊的何女士将医护人员吓了一跳，当时身高153cm的何女士被疾病折磨得瘦骨嶙峋，如同纸片一般，体重只有30公斤。
原来，何女士持续呕吐了3年，吃啥吐啥，一吃就吐，受尽了折磨，但却不知道得了什么病。据何女士自述，3年前她怀孕初期开始频繁呕吐，刚开始以为是妊娠常见反应，没有在意。然而整个孕期何女士都没有停止呕吐，米饭、肉类蔬菜和水果等一吃就吐，只能靠喝粥、喝汤和牛奶等流质食物维持身体所需。生下儿子后何女士还是吐，但因为照顾孩子没有时间，也不在意，一拖又是两年。

doesn't have to be yayun. Also, for Qieyun, pingshuiyun, nobody really
speaks as the book indicates. To make a solid study, one has to have a solid
starting point, which all the research works seem missing.
For shijing, it's sometimes translation of English poems into Chinese, if I
can yayun, great, if I can't, let it me, no big deal. |

There is absolutely no doubt that Mao's poems are at least the equal of that
of any poet after Song dynasty. All poets from that early time were all
very limited in what was expressed in their poems. It was just a limit of
the time, none of the courts since then were very tolerant of grandiose
expression.

The first principle of a poem must be that it express something. Those what
you called beauty poems said nothing. They are nothing but clever play on
words to describe a scene, or at most self pity.
The mental framework of those poets are so limited, that no amount of
literary skill can compensate. |

中国历史号称上下五千年，史记讲中国古代史起源于，黄帝，炎帝，尧，舜，禹。舜帝
葬于九嶷山，毛主席有诗为证：
九嶷山上白云飞，帝子乘风下翠微。
