是美国移民国家的象征。不过，最近美国移民局长发出了新的言论，他称纽约自由女神
只会欢迎来自欧洲的新移民。
言下之意，亚非拉美裔的可以走人了。美国根本就不欢迎你们。实际上，川普上台之后
，美国的白人至上主义者人数疯长，他们还在国内制造血腥的杀戮事件。
川普等美国高官对于种族主义的纵容，也让白人至上主义者变本加厉。如今，连美国移
民局长都说出这样的话来。看来，美国的风向已经变了，接下来，其他族裔的苦日子就

墨西哥与南美怎么会在 “大西洋的彼案”？当美国人说 across the pond
的时候，一定是指欧洲，甚至英国。因为大西洋的彼案不是指其它地方，就是欧洲。墨
西哥南美不在欧洲，aka 大西洋的彼岸。

全是那个笨蛋局长自己加上去的。
你既然可以说欧洲移民，为什么不可以解释成犹太移民only?

the point here is his interpretation is NOT what the author meant...since
when Jewish became the representation of European? obviously the "people
from Europe" he referred to are white Christians, Catholic, etc. Let's be
honest here.

the point is, he is not wrong literally for saying "the people FROM europe".
of course a group of people could continue to play race cards and associate
it with white privilege like they always do.
