欢的。目前果家有意让我on-site，职位是Wireless System Architect，参与制定无线
标准什么的，他们说有IC design背景会对Architect的工作有帮助，但是我觉得性质和
工作内容还是很不一样，要学习的东西很多，以后工作起来不知道以前的design
experience能加分多少，有点重头来过的感觉。我的IC design knowledge比较强，但
对于系统和标准还是很不熟悉。
现在比较犹豫到底要不要去On-site。主要考虑：不知道果家的Wireless System
Architect职业前景怎么样，将来职业发展道路是不是就是Senior Architect和
Principal Architect...?以后跳槽找到相识Architect职位的机会多吗？ (我感觉果家
的Architect是产品层面的，跟IC的Architect还是不完全相同）是不是Architect的薪

built from 1000sf to over 10,000sf, and the shape can be square, rectangle,
L or round, all kinds of. The architect that one builder recommended are
from st.clare , and many other architects are not from local as well, even

但是很少见到大家讨论夹在中间的architect，skill其实向上向下都有延伸的样子（主
要懂architecture，另外懂一些OS，一些compiler，一些digital design，一些
circuit但是都不是很精），
是不是因为一般公司architect的招人比较少？比较不好找工作？只有大公司招？
一般招architect都招PhD么？
ms和phd去了以后能做啥啊？research性质的？product性质的？跑跑simulation什么的？
待遇薪水职位等等跟码工，硅工能比吗？ 挣钱情况是码工>architect>硅工？ 我看的

发帖数: 2265 | 26 这些都不是问题，这些code都是standard的，不同的Zone不同的规定，但大体上差别不
大，没有到所有的house plan都要推倒重来的地步。同样大的地，不同的lot shape 也
是不一定能盖的了同一个plan. 但稍微改改符合code不是deal breaker，对于一个
architect来说。
1W尺的地，已经很大了，冗余性很大了已经，100*200的，wingspan能到80尺了，deep
更是可以忽略不计了。高度不过30尺/35尺的差别，大部分都是这个范围，改下roof
ratio这5尺就出来了，或者减少Deep,或者加些roof的层次，等等。
architect本来就是按code画图的from scratch，不然的话网上卖的plan千万种，才几
百块，谁还找local的啊？ city的code也是网上public的，这是architect的专业工作
。除此之外，包括site planning, cost estimate等等都是local architect要有的基
本知识，都不是什么难事，手里有survey自己做都行，网上买的plan就是把这些cost全

Talking about the certificate itself, it's just an extra factor. If two
candidates are exactly the same, one with certificate and the other one
without, the first one may have some advantage. Working experience is way more
important.
About architect position, not many companies are hiring architects actually.
It's easier to be an architect in smaller company. Bigger company? Very hard.
