db的cloudera, greenplum都跟你急。还有些公司db都不需要，卖Web design的，
architect只管web layer优化。system architect, network architect。。。种类多
了去了。你说的那种，不过是在app公司作architect，作integration就行，不用对前
后台有跟specialized architect那样了解深刻。
说到底，不光db architect，其他类型的architects也一样，基本概念总要搞搞清楚，
程序总要写过个几百万才好意思出来跟人打招呼。大公司的architect最扯了，只会
talking，把事情说的模模糊糊的也能当，反正headache有engineer帮她解决。细节才
能体现一个人的水平，基本上你hands on experience就是通过细节问题体现的。只有
在startup作过几轮的才能明白我说的。 |

报价，一共3个人，2个是老美architect公司，一个是华人的。华人的architect设计报
价低一些（老美的其它部分没有问），基本如下：
architect: (5316sqft x $5.64) = $30,000
civil and tract maps: $11,000
structural engineer (6116sqft x $0.82) = $5,000
Landscape Architect: $3,000
HVAC, Energy, Electrical, Plumbing Engineer: $2000
项目是个2-unit的contemporary townhome。不知道这样的报价合理吗？这个华人
architect在南加华人圈子算是不错的，项目经验也比较多。问的2个老美architect公
司都是比较专业做contemporary的小设计公司。 |

们也属于很核心的team，我是以senior开发身份招进来的（我自认为做architect也没
问题，只是之前跨了很多不同领域，所以这次进来有些亏），当初进来也是用了
counter-offer，所以算是senior偏上。过去一年半工作非常卖力，主要是我自己也确
实有点workaholic，所以也没主动提出什么要求，但是老板要求的，或者只是一点想法
，也全力以赴甚至熬夜去做原型。另外我自己也有主动性，所以这段时间以来也有自己
own的一些release，整个大组二十几个人也就两个principal和一个architect（team组
成大部分都是principal）也有东西release。在辞职前，刚刚又被分了一个新项目，而
且是直接和vp级architect工作。
新的机会：面试了一个另一个大公司，谈的很好，最后给的offer--工资涨了50%，职位
给principal，许诺一年后目标是成为architect。缺点就是这个公司的产品其实我并不
熟悉，不过也不算什么，我已经非常适应转入一个新的领域。

公司的财务状况不是很好所以最终放弃。
对于你的情况，如果你倾向于接，有几个问题你需要问自己。
1、如果等产品开发主要程序完毕公司把你排挤走，或半年、或一年至一年半，你是否
心理上能接受？
2、如果心理上能接受，届时你的marketability是否比现在更好？
3、今后工作中，由于你直接升为architect,难免会处于一些政治斗争中。你的性格是
否能处理好与那些曾经比你level高的同组同事们的关系？
4、如果同事关系变得极为难处，你是否不会因为这些而抑郁、甚至影响家庭关系？
5、你对该项目做成功的信心大吗？
如果你的答案大部分都是Yes、或至少1和4是Yes,你可以考虑留下。
绿卡很重要，但不应该成为你这次做决定的关键因素。你是去是留都得办。其实我甚至
觉得你留下办绿卡可能更快。因为也许你可以要求现公司给办EB1B。PhD不是必需的。
如果你有产品release的，又有公司sponsor的话，机会不小。

那樣的，帶id, patch和codename的，外人根本看不懂。。。
另外架構路線圖是architect定的，不是system engineer，我們有這個職位，分
architect / senior architect / principle architect / fellow architect。
system engineer負責芯片集成的，屬於SoC，不是架構設計，改不了design spec，只
能做PoP優化。
design engineer負責RTL實現，對應的是verification engineer和validation
engineer。
這類blog應該是solution engineer負責，售前服務，需要提供方案。
你說的application engineer負責support，售後服務，沒有設計部分。 |

写这个帖子，主要是为了把有关艾未未的一些信息汇总过来。利用足够充分的信息来揭
开五毒五玩三流业余艾未未的真面目，让他的一切都曝露在光天化日之下。
总之，艾未未的一切，通通都由网民们说了算吧。
第一集：艾未未的作品
艾未未最富有争议的作品包括“裆中央”系列的“腾飞不忘挡中央”和“草泥马，裆中
央”。“一虎八奶”图中的“推心置腹”，“坦陈相见”之类的。因为漫天飞到过目不
忘了，就不提供链接了。同时艾未未的“童话”曾被指抄袭。

好几个位置招人。昨天他跟他老板F讲了一下我，然后告诉我F对我还比较感兴趣。我就
发了封信给F说希望什么时候能谈谈。F很快回信说好，当天就谈了。大概谈了二三十分
钟，把我的情况和我做的东西给他展示了一下。感觉谈得还不错。临了，F说晚上或者
第二天（也就是今天）给我发信讲讲有什么样的事情我可以，也感兴趣做，因为前面他
问到了我想做developer还是architect，我就说我的情况都讲给你听了，你知道我的技
能，你看什么样的合适，兴趣我都有。我现在在研发的职称级别和developer or
architect都有相同级别的对应职称。我当时的感觉是F也许会给我量身定做一个位置。
结果今天可能因为比较忙，F没有发信给我。我就下班前去找了他，几分钟时间。他把
公司对外招人的一个位置发给了我，信里说，申请了就告诉他，要安排面试。同时朋友
说今天大家就我的情况讲了几分钟，总体比较正面，但毕竟不是挨踢部门的，做
developer够条件，甚至有多，做architect则有些一两个方面欠缺一些。

看大家最近因为refer国人产生争执，希望能对一些童鞋有所启迪。
为了警醒那些觉得“凭真本事吃饭”，“在公司要讲原则”的童鞋。
给涉世不深的小朋友们看看公司斗争的残酷性。不要以为自己进了好公司，
拿着不错的薪水就可以鄙视周围的同学和朋友或是素不相识的人。
永远记住：你能走多高多稳，很大程度上取决于你对别人的态度和你能够提供的帮助。
谢谢大家有兴趣听我在这里婆婆妈妈了这么长时间。上一个帖子后面有童鞋说这个公司
水太深，建议
这种地方少待，能走就走。我对此持不同意见。是可以走，但又走到哪里去呢？硅谷
现在烙印的比例是多少？硅谷烙印化这个趋势停止了么？没有。看看今年h1b的申请就
知道了。
现在各大公司的高管里面不是烙印的有几个？这些都是无数次政治斗争的结果。有的时
候你以为
公司的斗争少，只是你没有看到而已。所有的公司本质上来说都是僧多粥少的，你要取
得生存
的资源，你就得学会去斗争。你要学会去斗争，自己又没有斗过，怎么办？那就去看点

我原来身边的同事就去了2个，头衔给的挺高
级别划分似乎是chief architect，senior architect，architect这样
chief architect据说是 director级别的，对应数字级别是20级，权责似乎挺大，但是
待遇应该不及一般硅谷公司的technical director级别
华为的内部股分红，挺难预期具体收入的，因为决策过程是黑盒
他们新项目是IaaS, PaaS之类的云平台，才大规模招人，此领域太难搞，所以长期我不
太看好 |

还有，这个组大manager是印度人，人很好，还有一个中国manager，人也很好，组里亚
