I strongly suspect your drug inhibit the metastasis of the tumor, which is
actually the killing factor of cancer!
In such case, the tumor size would not be reduced (sometimes it can even be
bigger) but the new secondary tumors and secondary colonies in lung or bone
marrow will be significantly down.
You should contact people who is the cancer field to help you to do the
metastasis inhibition test. From the information you provided, I think you
guys already found a gold mine but |

siRNA is exogeneous,about 21nt, usually completely complementary
miRNA is endogeneous, about 70nt, processed to give smaller, mature miRNA of
approximately the same size of that of siRNA; usually not 100%
complementary. Could result in mRNA degradation, inhibition of translation,
etc.. For translation inhibition it binds to 3'UTR most of the times but
some miRNA binds to 5'UTR or intronic regions too

但是研究思路上真是不敢恭维，
做完一个database，上线，发个小文章，
再继续做另外一个生物信息database,做个网站，上线，发个文章；
已经拿这种思路申请了两次R01了，结果都没中（中了才怪呢！）
这种研究思路就是打浆糊，除了catalog别人的发现，毫无创新；
最近还要搞drug repurposing,
也是利用前人发的paper，做text mining, 在link到某些drug，
看看能不能把同一类的drug combine起来inhibit一个circuit，
做inhibition modeling,
这种研究思路非常危险，第一，你是假设以前的paper都是正确的；
第二，做modeling纯属意淫，没人去验证，没人会买账。
得赶紧准备走人了，这种老板真的伤不起，
在这种funding的气候下，我估计老板也早晚会变成泥菩萨
指望DoD给的仨瓜俩枣撑不了太久 |

他们的说法就是，这些概念都是细胞生物学家炒起来的，他们作为病理研究者坚决不承
认。
我的感觉是EMT是癌细胞genetic plasticity 的一个表现，但是并不是癌症转移的必须
条件。
contact inhibition, 在我看来，是非癌症细胞在培养条件下的一个表现，而且癌细胞
和正常细胞在这个方面的确有很大的不同。但是体外的contact inhibiion和体内条件
未必有直接联系。也许可以把这个看成一个区分癌细胞和非癌细胞的体外测试assay。 |

绍。曾经许诺一旦成绩上了230，就写一篇考经，下面就把我的备考经历和一点心得体
会向麦地版的战友们作一汇报，也算是对自己这段人生的一个总结：
一、题库、模考及考试成绩+时间：
UW qBank: 正确率最早25%，考前80-90%
Kaplan qBank: 只做了解剖、遗传，没有统计正确率

，每天都来看看有没有考经，也经常拿自己的模考成绩和考经中的对照一下，看看自己
复习的效果，从前辈的考经中学到很多。所以，本贴得唯一目的是：希望能给还在准备
step1的朋友们一点提示，吸取我的教训，都考出一个好成绩。
正文：
我是8/06/2012考的Step1，昨天（8/29/2012）早上9:19am拿到成绩---242/85，还
好，和自己估计的成绩240 +/- 5基本一致。万分感谢我的家人的理解和支持，十分感
