For my understanding, the current symptoms are 1. epigastric pain; 2. foul-
smelling stool.
So, 1. Epigastric pain is caused by chronic pancreatitis.
2. Foul-smelling stool is caused by lack of pancreatic enzyme.

Match的结果终于尘埃落定，周1等电邮的时候非常紧张，因为成败就在此了，虽然一直
告诉自己，今年只是热热身，成败都可以接受，但到真的揭晓的时候，还是很紧张，毕
竟一旦卷入其中就身不由己，何况自己也还是有所付出。到周4等match program的时候
虽然也有点紧张，但程度已经大大减少，1个原因是毕竟match上才是头等大事，去哪里
尚在其次，还有1个原因是心理还是有所准备了，虽然希望留在home school，但直觉告
诉我恐怕是非常困难了，在我rank list上第二位的program应该就是我要去的地方，果
不其然。经过几天的等待，发现果然是要搬家了。

Majority consistent to GI loss (malnutrition/malabsorption)
Edema is due to hypoalbumin and low protein. Originally lower extremity edema was thought to be due to systemic involvement. But when I saw "4+ pitting edema up to low back" on PE on day 2, I knew it could be due to low protein level. I appreciate the good PE you did. :)
Hypokalemia is most likely due to GI loss too.

小P从某段时间开始就一直有点拉稀，做了两次regular的fecal exam，
都没有寄生虫，医生怀疑是肠胃的敏感问题。于是这孩子就时好时坏。
最近两天小P拉稀到登峰造极的程度，半夜我跟她爹轮流起来3。4。5次
带她去上厕所。这孩子自己也难过得不行。
今天早上去见了VET，做了抽血的检查和比较深入的FECAL EXAM，结果
臭P有Giardia，也就是鞭毛虫病，所以才造成持续的拉稀。医生开了药，
希望小P早点好。
所以再此提醒养狗狗的同学们，如果狗狗拉稀，比较持续，除了肠胃的问题以及
一般寄生虫的问题以外，也要注意类似GIARDIA这种寄生虫。狗狗爱乱舔东西，
喝水啊什么的，所以很容易感染。我们家喝的是DRINKING WATER，基本不会有
太大的问题，给狗狗喝生水的可能要注意一下。
这个虫虫可能会传染人和猫咪，造成拉肚子。
如果有狗狗腹泻的情况，可以买plain的南瓜罐头给他们吃，是很好的 |

发帖数: 14786 | 20 今天下午带着Ben去复查，一路上这个平时的小哑巴呜哩哇啦叫个不停，和一个星期前
趴在笼子里一动不动判若两猫。这次复查主要是又查了fecal，结果是negative，接下
来就不用吃任何药了，ohh yeah！
我特意问了医生有关寄生虫的问题。她告诉我说两次fecal test都没有发现虫卵，虽然
不能100%肯定，但是感染寄生虫的可能性很小。不过她也再次建议我给家里的猫都至少
打狂犬病疫苗，说虽然家猫感染的可能性很小，但是万一跑出去不小心咬了人，别人追
究起来，拿不出打针的证明猫要被put down的。我想想家里这三位宅男从来也没有很想
要出门去，见到生人也没有任何攻击举动的，就说回家再考虑一下。
这次两只猫看病加一只猫复诊，一共花了$480+$60=$540。临走的时候医生向我推荐了
“VPI PET insurance”，不知道大家有没有听说过？有经验的粑麻能不能建议一下，
像我们这种一两岁的健康猫咪，偶尔会出点小状况的，一般要选什么样的insurance
plan?
最后，out of curiosity，向医生要了上次Ben拉得最严重时候的化验报告，扫描出来
给大家瞧瞧。 |

is the smell of her fecal really horrible?
does she have constipation?
I don't think there is point to go to vet now (I doubt
vet can find anything from blood test for this).
Make sure you do good in the above questions and see
if she recovers. If not, try some probiotics if possible.
If still not recover or if she is getting worse, take to the vet.

我家大宝曾拉肚子两三个月（blood in soft/watery fecal, very stinky). 血检，fecal/urine examinations 都没问题。、一开始医生偏向于认为是IBD. 后来发现实际上是对corn, wheat gluten之类过敏。所以改成以主要是grain free food such as weruva， blue buffalo wildness grain free chicken recipe dry food， halo grain free dry food。 每天给些 Halo liv-a-littles treats， 偶尔撒些FortiFlora, Nu-Cat Liquid, GNC superfood complex premium formula powder 等等营养补品在她的食物上。 唯一不健康的是每天要喂她些friskies的海鲜味的can food (她很馋friskies). 但是坚决不敢喂她非海鲜味的friskies can food或是friskies treats,因为它们... 阅读全帖 |

有很大的关系，但我不喜欢一股脑都往那上头扯，至于身体其它部位的microbiome那多
半是exploratory性质的，忽悠居多。
提到probiotics，其实市售的probiotics很多都不纯，一是时间长了有污染，也因为没
人仔细检查菌源，而很多厂的菌源来自一个地方。另外probiotics不是commensal
bacteria，只是过客而已，所以得不停吃。
用fecal transplant的确可以治c. diff，就是用健康人的菌群把c. diff给竞争死了，
但我不确定那些菌群在病人体内能不能扎根，听说有的人要接受不止一次fecal
transplant治疗。 |
