【約一5】「光照在黑暗裏，黑暗卻不接受光。」
﹝原文字義﹞「接受」抓住，擒拿，把握，克服，勝過，理解。
﹝文意註解﹞「光照在黑暗裏，」『照』字有『光不斷地照亮』的意思。光照在黑暗
裏的目的，是要顯出人在黑暗中邪惡醜陋的光景。
「黑暗卻不接受光，」『黑暗』是『光』的反面，光既是指基督，則黑暗應是指
反對基督的權勢，並在其權勢之下的人和體制。
『接受』(comprehend)，可以指用心思去掌握，也可以指用武力去制服；本句
可能含有此兩面的意思，表示黑暗既未能理解光，也未能勝過光。
本節經文可說是《約翰福音》的提綱挈領；本書中後面的發展，都在說明光(耶穌
基督)與黑暗(世界的王)之間的鬥爭。
﹝靈意註解﹞光象徵良善、生命、喜樂、拯救；黑暗象徵邪惡、死亡、憂愁、沉淪。
﹝話中之光﹞(一)當生命的光照在我們裏面，黑暗就不能勝過它；相反地，光卻能驅
散黑暗。
(二)雖然光具有驅散黑暗的能力，但是光有可能被拒絕(「不接受」)；我們若是
陷在黑暗中，正表明我們自己對光的態度有問題。
