说，如果给大公司干活，业务可以分好几块，IT system是一块，tax是一块，
consulting是一块，core audit (financial statement audit)是一块。如果是大客户
，一般IT auditor，tax，还有core auditor是一起合作做好一个年度fiancial
statement audit的。分工如下：IT auditor先去测试那些大公司的各种系统，写测试
report，如果这些系统fuctioning well，才会对后面的core audit team提供足够的
reliance。因为我们core audit做financial statement audit，很多数据都是从他们
系统里generate出来的，如果我们的IT auditor不在前面铺路测试，我们哪儿来的

Advisory, etc.), and if you want entry level IT auditor, that might be a good start. However, the salary for entry
level in Big 4 may be less than your current salary (in NYC prob $65K+ for entry level, not sure though). But

,如果运气好能转financial reporting就不错了。。如果不能转行的话internal
auditor最多升到manager..没有可能再升了，总不会让一个外国人做audit committee.

你是manager还是junior auditor?作为junior auditor，第一年的时候什么事情都会一
惊一乍的，觉得，哇，发现issue了，呀，material，靠,fraud。然后manager说没事的
时候，junior auditor一定会觉得，肯定是这个manager粉饰太平，为了正义与和平，
我要把意见写在paper里，还要越级报告，成为英雄！
以上，一点都没有嘲讽的意思，因为我第一年当junior auditor的时候，我就是这么想
的。
怎么解决？Communication。问经理，为什么他不觉得。判断一个audit finding是否
material，两个方面，quality and quantity。你先问问你自己，你觉得material，是
因为哪个方面。如果quantity上有material error，你就把算出来的数字给他看，问他
这么大的差异，超过了重要性水平线了，为什么还不material（不过我觉得应该你不是

的，没想到才做了两年，当原来的local firm 合并进一个regional firm之后，我就被
laid off了。
经过面试，我现在有两个offer, 其一是另一个local firm给我的auditor position,
这个职位的优点是我能继续接触不同的客户，为以后找工作打好基础。Busy season
over time 50 hours/week 左右，不算太过分。 不过这个firm做的和我原来做的客户
不太一样--他们没有SEC client。
其二是一个manufacturing company的internal auditor position, 主要责任是help
with SOX 404 compliance.这个职位的报酬略高一些(+7%),几乎没有overtime,不需要
穿business casual. 缺点是同一部门的同事较少，几乎没有promotion的可能。

通常internal audit manager上面会有director那个级别的.
accounting manager上面通常有senior manager/director的级别,然后才是VP, 不会马
上就是controller的.
如果你的上级走了,那么你自然可以升上去了.
问题是所有的private industry里面都是这样,就是你的老板那个位子如果不走或者不
升的话,你是没有办法升的,好一点的是转其他部门升一点. 这个不管是internal audit
还是accounting都是一样的情况.
我原来公司的CAE general auditor,就是从entry level accountant一直做到公司的
corporate assistant controller,然后再也升不上去了. 因为corporate controller
那个位置的人一直没有动. 然后正好general auditor的那个人去其他公司了. 所以他
才转内审, 算是升到General auditor这个位置. 然后过了两年, 一个分公司的VP

人在那里工作, 你们当初是怎么办的h1b.悲催的再说一下,给的工资比给办h1b的最低工
资少900块钱per year,这个还不知道怎么跟老板说.另外想问下这个属于nfp, 我opt明
年2月才过期, 所以是不是最好先工作两三月,再跟老板negociate 好呢?否则现在说了,

experience to complete an engagement from audit planning through putting
together the report. That way, next time you decide to switch, you're
looking at senior or management roles. But how does your husband feel about
the overtime. Is he willing to take care of the kid when you work weekends?

to say, the job is easy, but eventually I cannot afford 50% travel after I
got married. I like to be home with whom I care.
I had travel around the world (both domestic and Asia Pacific region). At
first, it can be exciting as you can see world, stay in first-tier hotels,
earn milages...... but later on, I got tired of staying nights in Hotels.
Most internal auditors will like to transfer to other financial departments.

position, but there is no interview for those position.
I am from financial service industry and I want to switch to other industry.
Now the internal auditor is not for financial service. I think maybe it is
a break point for me to transfer outside of the financial service.
I feel that I am not lucky, 4 years ago have to work for big 4, now have to
work for internal auditor, also not a good job. |

positions down the road, it's just not that easy. Why? Most business units
hate dealing with internal auditors, cuz we always ask for stuff, sometimes

还算轻松，感觉天天在混日子，每天上网的时间比上班时间还多。每天做什么annual
budgeting, budgeting re-projection, financial reports, ，monthly closing，
profit and potential loss analysis ………. 最近公司变动很大，裁了很多，不过
对我还比较稳定。不过埋藏在心里多年的躁动被trigger了，所以现在开始找工作.
以前在大学的时候计算机是我的第2专业，那个时候计算机太火了，班上80%的计算机
学生是老中和老印。我学了大部分本科计算机的的课程，什么C++汇编，网络完全…….
. 对计算机有点皮毛的理解。考过了CISA, N年前有一些计算机安全的工作经验。
昨天面试一个Sr. Accountant的职务75-80K，感觉还可以，和我现在做的差不多，
不过多了一些financial analysis什么的。不过感觉以后也就5%的 increase了，当然
