不想做纯编程的东西，才想转行的，来美国前就转了，结果发现没有美国学位和绿卡，
找工作很难。想问问懂IT auditor这个工作的朋友，
1 这个方向在美国就业前景如何？回国好找工作吗？
2 如果考到CPA，还要再去读这个学位吗？原本是想读这个，一来拿个美国学位，二来
捡起一些IT方面的知识，以前学的都很久了。
3 30出头了，读完以后，找这个工作会不会年龄大了？ |

Sr. Mgt
4. No need for degree if you can qualify for CPA exam. Need intensive
newworking to get first job. If you have limited channel in large firms,
suggest you go to school and fully utility their career service
5. Age is never an issue in US.

IT auditor和general auditor (core auditor)是很不一样的，干的活不重复。基本来
说，如果给大公司干活，业务可以分好几块，IT system是一块，tax是一块，
consulting是一块，core audit (financial statement audit)是一块。如果是大客户
，一般IT auditor，tax，还有core auditor是一起合作做好一个年度fiancial
statement audit的。分工如下：IT auditor先去测试那些大公司的各种系统，写测试
report，如果这些系统fuctioning well，才会对后面的core audit team提供足够的
reliance。因为我们core audit做financial statement audit，很多数据都是从他们
系统里generate出来的，如果我们的IT auditor不在前面铺路测试，我们哪儿来的
confidence rely on reports? 然后做core audit期间，是不是tax的人还要过来看看
tax对整个financial statement的影响。所以你说的也没错，IT auditor确实学不到
general auditor的知识，但是IT auditor在真个financial statement audit里面又是
必不可少的。
就四大而言，IT audtor比general auditor要少得多，而且IT auditor的busy season
跟core auditor很不一样。因为IT auditor是在前面铺路的，所以如果客户的year end
是12/31的话，我觉得7,8,9月左右应该是IT auditor最忙的时候。然后10月开始慢慢
core audit team就开始忙了，tax的busy season比core audit开始的晚一点，结束的
也要晚一点。IT audit多少需要一些IT或者说CS的知识，不是那么容易上手，所以自然
起薪要高一些。但是，那些最后做到CFO，controller的，应该基本都是core audit出
身的。 |

Launch whatever 1st job you can.But if you can't after a while, I suggest
you still go to school. Hard to find IT auditor position without accounting
degree. Since only big accounting firms have IT auditors, they either hire
entry level from campus or hire folks who have experience.
If you want to be Controller CFO, as said, go do Core Audit. If you really
enjoy IT, do IT audit and later on move to IT consulting dept of accounting
firms or management consulting firms or get a business system analyst job in
large corporate.

- 没有学位想进入这个行业不容易，如果是有机会拿到相关经验到是可以继续上升。
不想做纯编程的东西，才想转行的，来美国前就转了，结果发现没有美国学位和绿卡，

- 就业前景不错，基本的入职要求是过CISA，有些能拿到CISSP/CPA更是加分。回国情
况不明。
2 如果考到CPA，还要再去读这个学位吗？原本是想读这个，一来拿个美国学位，二来
捡起一些IT方面的知识，以前学的都很久了。
- 考到CPA对你找IT/IS审计没有什么帮助。最重要的是交流能力和IT技能！
3 30出头了，读完以后，找这个工作会不会年龄大了？

我有master in accounting information system 念的时候你会有很多机会认识IT
audit领域的人 感觉还是挺好的 他们会帮忙refer去firm面试
09年的时候在南加州很不好找
一来市场不是很大职员都共享的 不需要找很多人
二来那时候很多layoff 我认识的manager们都人心惶惶 他们都给我refer了 但也很明
确的告诉我 firm要找的都是能马上开工的senior 因为真的没钱没时间去慢慢培养人
那时候我认识进firm的2，3个IT audit associate都是07，08年做过summer intern签
下来的
后来我通过校园招聘找到一个PWC的国内的IT audit 不过没回去 当年一个office
cover半个中国 80%的时间在出差
这个CPA是plus但不是敲门砖 regular要找这方面 还是CISA和CISM好一点吧 考试相对
也容易一点
想去firm的话 有绿卡是不是容易点 我知道好多小地方的4大office不找没身份没经验
的 要不你去大城市的4大看看
如果不去firm应该容易点 总有公司愿意找没身份的
年纪不是问题 关键你过不过的了自己的心理而已 因为你很多同事都是刚刚本科毕业
你要能有心理平衡 很好的跟他们合作 那工作也会很愉快
我当时有些35+的同学也去4大从低做起audit 他们已经有很多industry经验 去firm想
那个firm的名字放在RESUME

发帖数: 108 | 10 请问IT技能是指什么？编程能力？测试能力？软件应用能力？我以前倒是编程的，但是
这么多年没碰，早就忘了。还有交流能力，口语要很好吗？我一直在中国人多的专业、
公司学习工作，工作方面听力还行，聊天听力就差了点，口语问题就更弱了些，要提高
哪些方面呢？
另外，这个专业有没有什么好学校推荐的？ 是不是课程偏重IT方向的比较好？

如果CPA对这行帮组不是特别大的话，我是不是把考CPA的精力转到练习英语写作、听力
、口语什么的，更有用点？

当年是我知道的是广州和上海 因为我只关心这两个地方 按逻辑应该北京也是有的
CPA对IT audit的entry level找工作没有cisa cism那么有用 不是说CPA对以后升
级没有用 当你有了cisa，cism和招揽客户能力以后 cpa还是有点用的 所以不能得出结
论CPA对这行帮助不大 逻辑要对
把精力focus在找到第一份工作最重要
