My friends, sorry for running this race without telling everybody. The
reason why I did it was I have to be away from running for a few days at the
beginning of October, and I didn't want to waste my near-peak condition. I'
ve been running 7:17/mi at 150 HR (80%) and 6:51/mi at 160 HR (85%) in my
marathon pace long runs. I thought I was able to run a marathon within the
BQ time 3:10:59 without too much trouble (I was wrong).
The day before the race, I woke up at 4:30AM to catch a flight. When I

说的有道理,的确是压力大,赛前想了好几天都放不下来...
坐在shuttle上居然测出心跳是67,平时早上坐着都是不到50的。

其实是有taper的,倒数第二周因为周末long run跑不成,才52迈,最后一周比赛前共
26迈
我倒是觉得,如果完全不taper,说不定前半程不会跑成这样。

Fantastic race and inspiring report. Congratulations on BQ! Fighting hard
for your dream goal even when you didn't feel your best, pushing through

2009年6月买了daniels running formula,开始按照里面的fitness plan跑步,
8月底不知天高地厚,被跑版忽悠,开始按AM 55mpw计划跑。
其实我减肥大部分靠爬山和器械练习的,2009年3月大概BMI 26.7,
6月开始跑步时估计已经减到了23.6了,现在21.2 (before carb loading...)

One of the best race report ever read, in fact, not about the report per se,
it is about the best race ever seen
Whatever reason for your unusually painful first half, I believe what you
did on the second half is just incredible and so encouraging to us fellow
runners.
However, it tell us more than just pure will power and determination,
without your hard training, I am sure we cannot try to replicate the similar
wonderful second half.
In overall, I am truly moved by your report

inspiring and truly amazing!

I would say Baiji is more of a perfect example of hard training than

普通人可能训练半年能跑半马就很不错了, 直接4个月上全马而且
sub3:46基本上应该属于有运动基础和天分的。。
每个人情况不同, 不必刻意的模仿的, 自己比自己能有提高进步
就好了。。。

perhaps you didn't warm up properly? It really does take a few miles to get
into the "zone". In my last few
marathons in which I tried to set a BQ pace from the start, it also took
about 10K before I get comfortable. It is
really true that the marathon starts at mile 20. Even if you feel shitty in
the first half, your aerobic base will
help you through it. All those long runs and tapering and carb loading
really start to make a difference in the
last 10K of the marathon. Cheers!

It is fantastic. Learned a lot from your race, especially when I am going to
race on a similar course that you had. Excellent second half.
I will be out for two workshops from 10/11-10/17, the week to have the 2nd tune
up race followed by a long run. Now I am thinking something else to get
that week back.

谢谢。年底30。以前体育中等偏上吧,高二800m 2:24,大学3000m 11:30,100m 12.7
高中大学时踢球比较多,不过最多也只是系队替补而已。来美头5年非常缺乏运动。

I can't agree more. You run your first mile too fast. I believe you would
have been better off if you had gradually worked your pace into 7:17 until
mile 3.

weekly mileage高就不说了,关键是内容遵照计划,该跑得快的绝不跑慢,该跑得慢的
绝不跑快,是我们学习的榜样。他的log很详尽,相信大家从中可以学到很多东西。

this true inspirational story. I cannot imagine how much you went through by
this race,and I can see you not just run a marathon, but also a half
marathon, a 10k race, a 5k race, and also a 1200m Vo2max session.

Thanks. The human brain is amazing at adjusting the effort level based on
the body condition, the distance to the destination, the terrain, the
weather, etc.
It's more reliable than watch and some preset pace.

我大学同学都已经狠惊讶了..蛤蛤..不过我现在才觉得800是短跑..想死是因为爆发力
不够..慢慢跑长好像endurance更好练..属于相对mental的东西..爆发力可真是
physical了..不行真的是不行..

一个班里有这个实力的顶多一个。
虽说马拉松这个项目靠得是坚持和积累,
但我还是坚信每个人的运动成就受天赋的限制,
比如有些人的瓶颈是2个半,有些人的瓶颈是3个半,
到了这个瓶颈,再前进就相当困难了

消耗了5包gel,mile 6,16,22有gel拿,我在mile 6,16各拿两个,mile22拿了一个。
喝水频率大概每两迈一口,如果吃gel就喝水,没有gel就喝sports drink。
饮水吃gel都是变跑变吃的,没有走过。
