petitioner’s publications or from the totally of this work to date.
The petitioner emphasizes that he is the first to do many things. This is
really a semantic discussion that connot allow a claim of “first” to
necessary mean an original contribution of major significance…
然后说我的工作只是一个过程的一步，每一步都可以认为是第一次。还具体举了推荐信
中一句话来说明。
因为之前提供了九封推荐信，现在回头看看推荐信的内容 有些确实不够具体，没有特
别详细的说明为什么我的contribution 是 major significance。
现在我想让之前写过推荐信的人中的4－5人（其中3个引用过我的文章）再重新提供一
份推荐信，更详细具体的说明一下为什么我的contribution 是重要的，是不是对我的
RFE 有帮助？

不需要推荐人多牛，一定要说明你的工作如何影响了他们的工作 比如你的工作帮助他
们解决一个问题，帮助他们得到grant, award, etc.

发帖数: 785 | 4 最好是找其他的推荐人，否则很难不让人怀疑推荐信的真实性（你想，推荐信能按IO的
要调整，那不是大家合伙忽悠人家么！还有什么independent可言呀。）
major contribution这东西一定要写的具体。举个例子，做疾病科研的，要指出该病的
发病率有多少（如：每年几百万人发病，或是100人里有几个得病），你的研究让这个
病的发病率降低多少，或是治疗费用下降多少，或是多少医院和病人收益于你的研究结
果,等等.......
我自己就是描述了这些数字，看上去非常形象生动，无需任何赞扬或是渲染，get
approved with no RFE.
