目前的NRMP Policy是"Some In, Some Out". 从明年开始, 将实行"All In Programs"
Policy, 对Programs来说, 要么全走Match或全走Prematch(offer positions outside
of match). 我个人认为, 这可能影响两种类型的Programs:
1. 目前的绝大多数positions是以Prematch形式给出, 也许会在新的政策下, 将把所有
Positions以Prematch或其它的outside of match形式给出．
2. 目前只有很少一部分positions是以Prematch形式给出, 在新的政策下, 将把所有
Positions参加每年三月的Main Match．
这就看Programs怎么决定了, 我觉得对申请者而言, 影响不会很大, 因为目前Policy和
将来的Policy都有Pros和Cons, 取决于申请者的whole package, personal goal等多种
因素． |

list. Preliminary programs are better to be ranked before advanced ones. If
you are matched into an advanced position without preliminary ones, do not
panic...Try scramble first. If the scramble does not work, contact with the
advanced program which matches you ASAP. Usually, PD/PC are very helpful.
There are 3 possibilities in such case:
(1) PD refuses to do anything for you and you are actually unmatched this
year.

测自己的机会。当然了哪怕条件再好也不是100%,条件不好也不是0%。
如果预测自己机会偏小的，比如低分，没卡，大龄，其他什么都没有，你完全是在和小
印正面竞争的，是不是要走这条路，的确要考虑考虑。相反有ph.d, 分数不错的，有卡
的，机会会是非常大的，年龄会让你少了很多机会，但还有几百，几千喜欢research的
pd 在等着看你的材料了。而且你也只要有一个位置就可以了。
我只是想说明实际情况并没有像XXX说的，越来越难（有这个论调的，麻烦提供数据）。
这儿还有个论调，好像没240/250，没机会一样，看看nrmp 每年还是很多240/250
unmatched, 220/230 match 大把大把，甚至210都有。我老板也说只要过了第一轮
screen， pd能看到材料每个人的机会是均等的。那时咱们的ph.D/ paper 可以吸引pd
眼球。 |

verified) and (partially or fully unmatched). you MUST also register for
MyERAS in order to submit your SOAP applications during match week. if you
haven't register with MyERAS, it's kind of late for you. because transfer
documents such as LOR and MSPE from ECFMG to MyERAS takes weeks.
you don't need to create and/or certify a ROL in order to participate in
SOAP. But NRMP recommends you certify a blank ROL to stop receiving

(2) How to take USMLE given limited knowledge in medicine
(3) Match(The most difficult one). If you do not match well, all your
efforts will be a waste, esp when PDs noticed Chinese medicine in your

榜人的详细情况。看了一下，确实情况不是很乐观。
本来感觉自己心理素质挺好的，做些为cmg的志愿活动能多认识些朋友，大家交流交流
也好。这两天看着soap的单子慢慢变短，可是我收集的unmatch list在慢慢变长，就开
始难过，甚至一天里面会出现好几次，感觉自己快要撑不下去了。不停的在犹豫是不是
是时候quit了，甚至怀疑这根不不是我应该参加的游戏。
可是如果不做志愿者也不行。match不上的人现在都很难过而且脆弱，我收集信息的时
候会打招呼偶也是卖不掉的，所以有同理心，还能和大家好交流一点。也 希望对cmg的
工作有所帮助，如果就此quit，也算是在临走前对自己曾经得到过的帮助的一点回报吧。

，如今失败了，也不知道该如何去总结改进。
我是老CMG，成绩一般，却一直有自己的一套申请想法，认为这是一个关乎whole
package的事情，我既往career path的一致性和较强的LoR应该可以弥补。我也坚信这
一点直到3/11。我甚至幻想在成功之后，把我的case和申请理念说给大家听，也许大家
会接受百家争鸣，现在看来我这个case还是当作反面教材吧。
我拿到了10个外科IV（包括一个prelim；恕我不便说出各医院的名称），其中近一半是
美国的top医院，而且多数都不是通过connection拿到的。其实我也申请了大量普通大
学医院和社区医院，反倒基本被锯掉，大概这些大学更在乎成绩和YOG，不在乎
publication和career path consistency吧。另外，南部和中部的program真的很
排外（我住在东北部），大量申请后却只有一个IV，面试过程中也饱受屈辱。
面试之旅非常艰难。多数program 20-40:1的面试比例，我是唯一一个CMG，就连IMG都

我今年如愿match到了一个大学外科的categorical位置。自从去年的失利，我得到了很
多前辈朋友的鼓励和帮助，这里一并鞠躬致谢！！！！曾经的绝望如今成了我的一笔财
富，让我明白没有啥迈不过去的坎，将帮助我去闯surgical residency的龙潭。
过去一年的主要变化是我申请到了一个外科临床fellow的机会，深谢前辈们为我提供的
宝贵思路。经历了数次额外面试和取舍，我在7月初得到了个offer，在数天内搬离居住
了4年多的城市，不远万里开始了疯癫般的生活。
巨大的角色转换带给我的艰难和冲击可想而知。我无暇润色申请材料，无法精选
programs，忙不迭地申请、付款。到现在我好像还在迷局中猜不透match成功的真谛，
浑浑噩噩地just do it. 下边胡言请见谅！
似乎fellowship没有带给我多少成效：在多申请50%医院的基础上，我的外科面试数量
甚至比去年还少一个，我所在的大学医院也没给我一个哪怕是courtesy的面试（这里的

梦话版不靠谱分析，如有雷同，不胜荣幸。
现在都讲Evidence Based Medicine，另外国内315正好在打假，偶也来打一把假LOL
结论：2015麦地末日是一派胡言，长期来看，米国医生就业形势看好，PCP需求量大大
增加，短期来看CMG match率会稍有波动，但波动不会太大，波动幅度取决于米国国会
滴工作效率。
1. 2015麦地末日
最近2015麦地末日一说炒滴很火，原因无他，JAMA牛文里面写着呢（1）。不过童鞋们
唏嘘之余心里肯定会有点疑惑，貌似今年好多CMGmatch啦，麦地就有60个呢，咋两年以
后就没活路了呢？但疑惑归疑惑，JAMA都说了，肯定米有错啦。不过呢，其实JAMA牛文
是写给国会看滴，不是写给CMG看滴。所以2015麦地末日其实是一派胡言。如果大家仔
细读一下文章，会发现2015麦地末日滴结论是来自2011年一篇NEJM上滴牛文 （2）。牛

get an interview in IM application. It is a very rough one, may need some
correction. It is composed of step1, ck,cs, yog,usce, connection, lor,
advanced
degree, and status.
This is only for IM, not for Pathology.
Step 1: 5 if > 250, 4 if 230-250, 2 if 210-230, 1 if 200-210, o if < 200
Step 2: 3 if > 240, 1 if 220-240, 1 if <220
CS: 3 if pass the first time, 0 if have one attempt, -2 if more than one
attempt (yes, minus 2)

Step 2: half a year
CS: 3 months
Externship: 3 months
2 yrs is enough if you go full throttle and fire on all cylinders. But you
have to wait a year for the match result.
3 yrs is the minimum. Unmatched the first or second, it is 4-5 yrs. If you
take a break in between, it is 4-5 yrs. If you wanna get the best scores
you can
get, it is 4-5 yrs.
If you cant match, the time/money is all wasted. If you do, 3-6 more
grueling years are ahead of you.

this information to guide your study and application. Here are my two cents.
First, low scores (<210) and attempts are killers. However, high scores do
not give us much advantage either. No need to chase extremely high scores
unless it is easy for you. Second, most unmatched applicants only had one or
two continuous ranking in one specialty. Once the ranking number is ＞3,

you only need 6 IVs to get 100%. This is a basic math problem. Try to think
about the unmatching rate, instead of matching rate.
If you only can get 6 IVs, all in one specialty is much better than 2 each
in 3 specialities.
