天知,地知,你知,我知?没有不透风的墙,只有不做,才能不知. AGENT积累REPUTATION很
难很难,毁掉REPUTATION很容易.没有REPUTATION, AGENT只有喝西北风了. |

发帖数: 2972 | 2 我们这一行总体的Reputation不是很好,car dealer有得一比. 原因一是入行的门槛很
低,很容易拿到执照. 二是整天和钱打交道, 5000/1万/2万交易中都是一个"小"数字,但
在实际生活中是一大笔钱. 在伸手可得的金钱面前,哪些是该拿的,哪些是不该碰的,的
确是人性的挑战.
入门容易,但是做的好很难. reputation是一单一单积累起来的, 但是一不小心就前功
尽弃. 能保持好的reputation,我们这一行是越做越好做,因为客户基数越做越大,
Agent之间的connection也越做越密. 但实际生活里,能做的很好的Agent其实是少数(不
管是白人,还是华人),被淘汰的或半死不活的是大多数. 这也是为什么20%的Agent能做
80%合同的原因. |

Reputation很容易,1-2单就够了.
这是为什么我不愿意做Property Management,也从不替客户雇人维修/装修. 我可以提
供各种Contact,我可以On-site开门/关门/监工,但是具体维修装修的合同, 付款都是客
户自己处理.10位客户里有1位误解你就得不偿失.
不当家不知道柴米油盐贵. 湾区这几年Contractor比我们Agent牛多了. 有License的
Contractor都是排到了几个月后, 没License的也是漫天要价, 因为人家不缺活. LZ以
前找到/用过很不错的价格便宜的Contractor,不代表现在也能找到. 更不代表你的

当然你觉得你的Agent不诚实,这是另外一回事,原则问题. 但是他/她是不是真的不诚实
, 建议最好先核实/确认一下, 真的不能从价格上一下子就给人家盖个帽子. |

son to any of these. He attended the preschool at First Pres Church in
Bellevue and it was "fair" at best. I tried to switch him to Kids Magic
Preschool but I couldn't make it past the waiting list. I didn't know the
reputation of any preschools when I moved to Bellevue but I sure learned a
lot from talking with other moms and these seem to be pretty popular. Hope

reputation有负面影响的人被踢出去挺正常，这不算啥私人的事了，私人的事影响到了
public reputation，事主走人是必然的。学校不能管私人的事是说学校没法强迫王晓
芳不跟苦主丈夫上床，也没法强迫苦主夫妻或者王晓芳夫妻离婚，但学校有权利让王晓

不明白的地方，想请假下有经验的狗爸狗妈：
1. breeder问题，我在网上看reputable的breeder可以提供一大堆证明，hip啊heart啊
眼睛啊，大家买狗的时候breeder都能做到么？我就是想知道这些要求是否有可操作性。
2. 找breeder的途径，我看有个叫AKC的网站上推荐的注册的或者有license的breeder
，方圆100mile内才三家，而且连网站都没有。这个组织权威么？大家一般找breeder都
是通过breeder自己的网站联系的么？还是邮件电话？各种网站都说要找reputable的
breeder，我也不知道哪些是reputable，有木有统一的list啊。。。
3. 看狗的问题，大家联系好breeder以后，是会挨个去看看再挑呢，还是在网上提前做
好research，选定才去呢？
4. 最后懒惰的也求一下推荐，大家有推荐湾区附近的breeder么，自己或者朋友在那买
过狗最好了。

发帖数: 813 | 13 好的Reputation的建立，需要校友长期的共同努力。同样，好的Reputation对于个人
发展的影响，也是个long term的东西，很难说有立竿见影的效果。就看大家的眼光
看多远了。在这方面，老牌帝国们深谙其中的奥妙和好处，所以他们大多十分自觉
地维护自己学校的Reputation。这是一个良性循环，良性发展的事情。

本来懒得接着写，结果在另一个帖子扯了几句，就接着说 四积阴德五读书
曾经有人教我，做生意就是做人，做关系。这个话当然不能太绝对。但他的意义在于，
对于一个商人而言，最重要的财富，是他的关系，而不是银行你的存款。到浙江那些小
商人聚集的地方看下，许多人都曾经经历过生意的起伏，账户清零过的也不少，但重新
爬起来靠的是什么？
我理解的积阴德很大程度就是建立这个关系。
规划职业其实很类似做生意。个人与公司的关系不只是雇佣。而更重要的是客户/服务
提供者。我为公司创造价值，公司支付薪水。要生意有拓展就要建立商业网络，建立自
己的商业信誉。公司内部也是如此。
有人一听关系，就只想到请客吃放。其实最重要的不是这个。
我的理解，最重要的两个字，忠 和 善
忠，不只是忠于某个人，站队。而是“吾日三省吾身：为人谋而不忠乎？与朋友交而不
信乎？传不习乎？”

100%保证！同样的情况还有很多杂志都有。
现在IF的情况主要是已经渗透到了各个角落，一时间大家为了找工作，升职称都难以挣
脱。另一方面杂志要想拿到好的稿源，就只有通过提高自己的IF来吸引投稿，也没有其
他办法。就像Elife，有这么强的后台和support，但是从目前的情况来看，如果继续保
持8分的IF，我相信其稿源肯定会受到致命的影响，如果现在还不采取措施的话（比如
说加大review发表量）很容易走向恶性循环，把前面积攒的reputation 一下子葬送掉
。这也是很无奈的事情。我个人认为为了维持杂志的高IF，而采取各种手段，不应该是
丢人的事情，特别是在当下如此竞争激烈的环境下。杂志的目的最终是为建立自己的
reputation,而这个reputation目前就得靠IF，至少很大程度上是这样。
再举个实际的例子，cell metablism 前两年的影响因子一度降到了13点几。这是很严
重的情况，但杂志马上做出了积极的反应，大规模提高了review的比例，现在这几年已

super strong in DSP, Ronald Schafer, Russell Mersereau, James
McClellan etc, they all almost spent their whole career in GaTech and
established their reputation and hence GaTech's DSP reputation there.

to which school they choose to fund their research, they picked GaTech,

5月24日，美国国务院以签证为由，要求孔子学院中国教师限期离境,引起全美数十家孔子学院，以及和孔子学院合作的大学，一片哗然。
把这两件事情连系起来，不难看出，中国利用孔子学院向全球传播文化和语言，被西方一些右翼分子，当成是中国政府宣传软实力的工具。
作为英方的孔子学院院长，我对这个问题，也是感到非常困惑和震惊。
为什么，中国政府诚心诚意地花钱推广中国的文化和语言，会遇到如此想不到的打击和阻碍？中国政府应该如何对付这样的打击？如何应对今后更加意想不到的困难？
本人认为，中国政府应该做好如下工作：
其一，保持冷静的态度，认真研究对方各种持不同观点和态度的人群，采取有效措施，争取亲华力量，尽量化解冷战思维人士的冷战态度。

其实大家也别太迷信律师了，因为效益比很差。
要相信自己,和中国人团结一心后的伟大群众力量。
我个人觉得重点必需是利用群众力量和互联网的宣传，
再加由互联网导致的传统媒体的报导，达到高效益的结果。
一个窝囊的人不会因为是律师就不再窝囊。
当年卡扎菲政变后其下属(少校)出面代表利比亚，
而伊朗的庞大律师团则代表伊朗，和米欧石油巨头谈判。
猜猜最后结果如何？
1。伊朗律师团先达成协议，取得大幅度的原油涨价。
伊朗国王巴勒维得到消息后相当高兴和满意。
2。不过几天，利比亚的军人谈判团也和米欧达成协议。
但米欧的石油巨头给利比亚的原油价大大高过给伊朗的。
3。消息传到伊朗国王巴勒维的耳朵，国王转喜为怒，
觉得他的这些留学西方法律学院毕业出来的伊朗律师团，
居然远远还不如一个从来没受过法律教育的利比亚少校军官。
该少校后来变成利比亚的首相，显然当之无愧。

The website of Clifford Kubiak from UCSD had a page in poor taste taken down
recently. The website listed the lab rules to follow while working in the
Kubiak group. Most of the rules are written in a tongue-in-cheek fashion
covering basic safety awareness. However, Lab Rule #3 stands out. The image
of the offending website is shown below, and implies that the word of
Chinese colleagues should not be trusted.

The rules appeared on Prof. Kubiak website for about 2 years in the
campus of ucsd, he has never awared about that???
Technically speaking, he was under control the lab rules. If he
unaware, who made that rules and post the rules on his website as
those 1, 2, 3, 4?
