发帖数: 16 | 13 我刚来美国时也给自己找了个英文名字，当时觉得那样外国人容易记住自己。后来发现
大家都只是把它当做我的nickname（事实上也确实是，因为ID上没有的），而且也只有
不太熟的人会用英文名叫我，而熟识的人都会用中文名拼音叫我，即使他们得努力练习
一段时间。让我感觉到，在工作场合，人们还是愿意叫你的大名，而不是nickname，也
表示他们对你的尊重。
所以我同意楼主的看法，移民后代也应该坚持用中文名，因为它们的词义或字义代表了
父母在你新生时给予的希望，而英文名means nothing！
至于奴性，我觉得是早期华人来美时可能有这样的心态，认为起洋名可以向主流靠拢，
而现在的移民给自己小孩起名时则只是继承了这一习惯，因为看到其他的华人家庭也是
这么做的。说的有些过于严重了。 |

name都要费一番功夫，确保对方拼对。后来学着美军的方法，zulu-hotel, quebec, x-
ray 地一串，快捷方便准确，大家不妨学学。平时工作中用一个巨俗的英文nickname和
非华人同事交流，办公室门口的姓名牌上是中文拼音名+“英文nickname”+拼音姓氏。
有的老外曾尝试读我的中文拼音名，但几番努力后就放弃了，我估计咱们的舌头和他们
构造不同。给孩子取的名字包括英文given name和中文middle name。我的两个孩子一
个名字来源于古日耳曼，一个来源于古希腊。中文名字是我翻了半天论语找到的。 |

最近单位的律师为我准备485的材料，在填G-325表的时候，有一项是”other names
used(曾用名）“，单位律师要求把“Johnson"填上去。我主张不填，觉得多一事不如
少一事。而且我从来没有在正式场合用过这个名字，只是老美同事这样叫我。但是律师
坚持要填。最后我说如果一定要填，要加括号nickname.最后律师在”other names
used“一栏填写了”Johnson(nickname)"。请问这样有没有什么不好的影响？在name

地面，墙壁，天花板都是大理石，玉石，丝绸，金，白金还有油画；随处都是艺术品
真的很震撼。
听着耳机里断断续续的讲解，让我更加对vanderbilt家族的兴衰感到好奇
这个家族必定鼎盛一时，所以才能够挥金如土，修建这么多summer "cottage"
但追踪没落，使得他们无法持续拥有这些豪宅而选择赠送给preservation society。
