David W. Jones

David W. Jones

Oh, Islam believes that both bible and Qur'an are God's words. Some Muslims

From wiki:
Muslims believe that parts of the previously revealed scriptures, the Tawrat

interpretation, in text, or both.
Torah is basically the old testament, Injil is the gospel described in new

Many Christians believe that the words of the New Testament are set in stone

chronicling just how much those words have evolved over time.
For 11 years, they've combed through the earliest Greek manuscripts of each

Justin Martyr
"For the apostles, in the memoirs composed by them, which are called
Gospels, have thus delivered unto us what was enjoined upon them; that Jesus
took bread, and when He had given thanks, said, ‘This do in remembrance of
Me, this is My body;’ and that, after the same manner, having taken the
cup and given thanks, He said, ‘This is My blood;’ and gave it to them
alone."

In spite of many differences of opinion among Calvinists today, Calvinism is

JC's comment on Romans 1;1
With regard to the word Paul, as it is a subject
of no such moment as ought to detain us, and as nothing can be said
which has not been mentioned by other expounders, I should say nothing,
were it not proper to satisfy some at small expense without being
tedious to others; for the subject shall be despatched in a very few
words.
They who think that the Apostle attained this name as a trophy for
having brought Sergius, the proconsul, to the fait...

7. To them who by patient continuance in well-doing seek for glory and
honour and immortality, eternal life;
"To them indeed, who by perseverance, etc.; literally, patience; by which
word something more is expressed. For it is perseverance, when one is not
wearied in constantly doing good; but patience also is required in the
saints, by which they may continue firm, though oppressed with various
trials. For Satan suffers them not by a free course to come to the Lord; but
he strives by numberles...

6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? A
bsolutely not!
In 6:14 Paul summarizes 6:1-13 saying that Christians are under grace and ar
e no longer under law. This statement, however, could be misunderstood to me
an that Christians are free to be lawless. Paul anticipates such a ludicrous
misreading of his gospel, that he surfaces the question and deals with it i

8. And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that
we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.
"8. And not, etc. This is an elliptical sentence, in which a word is to be
understood. It will be complete, if you read it thus, — “and why is it not
rather said, (as we are reproached, etc.) that we are to do evils, that
good things may come?” But the Apostle deigns not to answer the slander;
which yet we may check by the most solid reason. The prete...

Many Christians hold this idea. But you are free to dislike your own

against Christians.

Why did God create human? Is this part of His "evil" plan in your

However, and this is important, to say that Christ was going to build his
church on the foundation of the apostles does not in any way teach an
apostolic succession, papal infallibility, or exclusive authority for
successors of Peter. Those doctrines were developed later. All the text
would be saying is what the rest of the New Testament affirms, that Christ

As it turns out, it was not originally in the Gospel of John. In fact, it
was not originally part of any of the Gospels. It was added by later scribes.
