为期间他的血压有所回升。我一度以为奇迹出现，就更用力地抱他，更大声地说话。可
是生命的力量还是抵挡不住癌细胞的吞噬。他的血压一路滑落，最后凌晨近四时，他大
声喘了几口气，发出类似叹气的声音，眼角慢慢沁出一滴泪水。医疗监视器的警告声提
醒我，This is it。我的坚强的老公啊，我认识他以来从来没见他哭过，总算在他人生
的最后时刻，流下了一滴泪水。。

a large-scale alum reunion is definitely nice to have but hard to organize.
realistically we can shoot for one or two of such events each year.
meanwhile, small-group lunches/dinners/drinks are a lot easier to manage,
esp for alumni who want to discuss common interest.
i also want to stress that the alum network is open to each alumnus. each
individual should feel completely free to initiate a small-group gathering
or other activities. everybody's participation is critical |

Alum Rock)，将弯曲最危险的Hayward fault （现在处于150年的窗口期）与另一条大
致沿I-680走向的Calaveras fault连在一起。' In that article, it didn't say
these two faults are connected for sure, just possibly.

大家问，你不怕老墨不付租金？老板说，其实这非法移民比合法的烂人要守规矩。他怕
你告到移民局去，一般都按时缴租。可有一样，他们就是省那个邮票钱。你不去上门讨
，他们是不会给你寄来的。有一次，他下班去上门收租金，一进门，刚拿到租金，“啪
”的一声，一颗子弹从窗子外射进来，打在头顶天花板上。吓得他抱住头，一下子趴在
地上，半天没敢起来。过了一回儿，没动静了，悄悄抬起头，见那老墨一家大小，像看
马戏似地看着他乐着呢。

The trail you mentioned might be Bald River Falls trail. It is in Tellico,
close to sweet water.
The fall is beautiful, but the trail is so so. you may just hike the first
mile.
The easy trails for you are: Laura falls, Abrams falls, Andrews bald.

路面：宽广专门的bike lane，特别是到Landess前边的lane几乎有一两汽车那么宽
难易：无陡坡，比较平缓
特点：一边靠山，春天景色不错

发帖数: 543 | 28 假日第一天的计划是陪老婆钓鱼，烧烤和去一个花园。于是难得起了早；收拾装备，一
路高速来到本地著名的ALum Creek state park. 第一个钓点在湖的偏北部；据说有wh
ite bass.我们用的Minnow；频繁上crappie;但是size都很小；只能扔掉很多；领导闷
闷不乐。钓了两个小时；扔了有10条8inch左右的（limit 9inch in ALum creek),kee
p 了7条。其时日照正午，按说不是鱼吃钩的时候。人却已然饿了。
于是开赴湖的中部地区（鱼饵店旁的一个cove;有picnic table).领导生火做饭；我拿
了一根竿去cove里试试luck.那里浪很大；因为旁边就是loading dock.4条小鱼下去，
上来一个10 inch的 largemouth （还是不够limit size)和一个凶猛的sunfish.
吃完饭；老婆决定不去花园，继续钓鱼。我看了一下cove的地形；有一个角落；属于r
iprap的地势；浪小；也有很多Bush在岸边。两个人重又买了minnow,“披荆斩棘”（都
被划了腿）走到那个位置。那时已经3点多；鱼开始纷纷上钩。 |

或者沿湖往北开到36号路的时候有几个cove,钓crappie的好地方。
Hoover 水库有一个bird watching的pier;那上面钓crappie也很爽。
离开c-bus两年了。。。这些钓点也不知道还有没有机会再去开发。。
licence在walmart/meijer有，去Alum creek的路上会经过lewis center的walmart. |

Southern Cal这么多Asian的Alum中有几个全家买season票的。学生交活动费可没有多
少revenue的
家里好几个是Southern Cal,我自掏钱约他们看球还被取笑stupid,说看电视不更好？.
也就五六十一条票。球场除了对同城rival,什么时候卖完过呢？家里几件汗衫也算gear
吗？
在columbia看过公鸡几场球，人家球迷的热情，就感觉到trojans的pathetic. 不但全
副武装，连家里桌椅板凳，锅碗瓢盆，车马轮胎全是forged了。那可不是开玩笑的。能
想到的商金带银的都有。连当地供应商客户间的送礼都带有logo的。Californian一个劲往
outlet和vegas跑花在Gucci, versace, coach,lv,boss, Calvin Klein,giorgio
Armani 的子弹，人家可都是在gear上的。
想不通吗？花点钱去体验一下嘛。
你要是真的SC饭，买过几次票看球。

时能去看看。今年6月我最闲，提前几个月就开始在家里对LD软磨硬泡。终于成功游说
LD同意如果俺能抢到看萤火虫的票的话就请一天假，加上周末一共3天，开车11，2个小
时去大雾山。
等抢票那天来临，我是一早就提前端坐在电脑面前，recreation.gov的账户，地址，信
用卡号一应俱全，看着电脑时间一点一点逼近10点，我就开始心跳加快，每隔10秒刷一
次屏，总算是10点零1分的时候把6月9号的许可证给抢了一张。搞定了票，一下心头放
松，其他的旅馆什么都不急了。临出发前几天，赫然发现联航正好那周末机票打折，周
六一早从Newark直飞，周一早上从Asheville回来才220一人，大喜，立刻买票，这下连
开长途车都省了，唯一的遗憾是本来打算周五下午开车走顺道去Delaware那边看看
horseshoe crab交配盛况，飞机出行就只好把这去了，算了，出门一次就专注看一种动
物交配好了。买好票后反应过来，这样周六晚上也有时间，早知就抢周六的萤火虫票了

发帖数: 1311 | 38 第二天早上6点多，我在鸟叫还有不知道啥动物的低鸣中醒来。本想立刻把LD踹起来，
好赶早去Cades Cove，省得堵车。想了想还是算了。现在年岁渐长，出门旅行安排也不
如以前见缝插针，能看就看，来不及也不用把自己累坏。结果LD很争气的过一会就自己
醒了。不过等两人爬出帐篷，刷牙洗脸，慢慢吃完早饭，开车出门也快8点了。一路基
本无车，到Townsend附近才出现几辆，急急往Cades Cove赶。途中看见火鸡一家路边觅
食。Cades Cove就是山里一大草场，早年印第安人一把火烧出来，后面又被老白入侵给
抢了。远远看见里面又有几只火鸡，不过没有带长焦，照出来火鸡大小和鹌鹑差不多。
可能还算早，一开始路上的车不多，我们走走停停，看到草地上鹿几只，尾巴外面镶着
一圈白。
草场的风景
最后转出Cades Cove的时候，车明显增多，车速放慢。有些人以低于5mph的龟速在路上
爬，耐着性子超了几辆以后发现苦海无涯，前面还有更多慢郎中，只好算了，好在就最
后一点，终于蹭出了Cades Cove.
回到营地，把帐篷拆了，吃了个简易午饭。顺便又问了问营地的ranger爬山事宜。被告

园子里面没有正规餐厅，只有在Cades Cove Campground store里面有food bar卖
sandwich， pizza之类的，其它几个visitor center只有vending machine。所以午餐
基本上要带，除非愿意开到园外小镇上吃。园子里的picnic area不少，有的还有烧烤
架，有时间的话烧烤也不错，部分地方冬天不开放。部分picnic area还有带seat的
pavilion，估计可以用来办婚礼，需要预定，收10-75刀。具体信息：http://www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisit/picnic.htm

另外，Blue Ridge Parkway上有的overlook也可以picnic，一般有1-2个site，没
有烧烤架，比如Big Witch Overlook就有两个点。
园外的小镇上餐馆不少，Gatlinburg就不用说了，但是在主路441上的餐馆都没有

正打算买一台Windows系统的笔记本电脑, 主要用途是个人编程(非工作), 浏览网页.
主要在家里用, 没有固定的电脑桌.
计划装VM Player, 再装iOS, 用于学习iOS app开发.
在Windows下,会做一些Android app开发. 以及安装Visual Studio, SQL Server, 等等.
现在在两台笔记本之间犹豫,
ThinkPad T540P (refurb'ed $500) vs Asus Q550LF-BSI7T21 (refurb'ed $580)
详细配置见最后。大神门帮我参考一下. (两台我都打算在DVDRW drive的位置换250G
或 500G的SSD硬盘， 另外会把内存从8GB升到16GB）谢谢。

I couldn't visited it recently either.
It is an Internet forum focusing on development of education and research at
ZJU and other places in the world in general, as well as observation of
nowadays China society with a particular attention paid to rights of
citizens, the rule of law (versus rule by one party) and freedom of speech. Democracy in China is definitely one of the key issue.

T540P已经买了，再犹豫是否改成Asus, 主要的担心是Asus键盘不好用对编程有多大的
影响。
键盘：都有backlight。但是 Asus键盘据说不好用，会miss key strokes, backlight
不易识别。

Flavell虽然发过很多CNS paper, 但是大多很垃圾。尤其是最近5-6年的更是垃圾到不
行，比较典型的就是08年关于Alum激活inflammasome的Nature paper, 说Alum佐剂功能
和inflammasome有关，这是明显是赤裸裸的造假。这个被后来很多的lab (>5)证明是根
本不对的。还有他们最近的NLRP10的Nature paper也有很多地方有问题，已经有几个
