好的老师不愿意来relocate（拖家带口），甚至已有老师也觉得太boring流失走了，
那些发funding的机构也集中在大城市周边，
industry也集中在大城市，industry不但能提供项目给老师研究所发钱，
而且提供了学生的就业岗位，
这种效应，在已经毕业的学生进入industry建立alum network
小城市，学生毕业后就业困难，并且在校期间的生活非常boring
....................
缺少funding，缺少好老师，缺少好学生，学校不就是靠这三样么？
啰嗦了太多，一句话：“规模优势”
很多人说：“location偏，好歹房价便宜啊”
这是典型的屌丝思想，
大学这种东西，绝对是winner takes all，只能往上走，逆水行舟，不进则退。
学校的tuition实际上非常非常贵，
那么一点房价，在庞大的funding/tuition面前根本不算什么。 |

在家里，以防被捕。
旧金山纪事报上月曾报导，ICE将于湾区进行大规模突击搜查行动；24日，周六晚上，
屋仑市长薛丽比还引可靠消息说，ICE即将展开行动，所以移民社区都充满恐惧。
ICE周二证实，他们25日周日展开行动，行动地点包括旧金山、屋仑和圣荷西，以及州
府沙加缅度、士德顿和中谷佛莱斯诺等。
行动搜索了商店、餐馆和职场，逮捕了超过150人。ICE强调他们逮捕的都是违法的无证
移民，并且说，2月初ICE在洛杉矶采取行动，逮捕超过200人，其中88%都是已定罪的刑
