off running gave me a perfect chance to rest all the small injuries
in muscles and tendons, especially my hip tendon pain was completely
gone. My right back heel pain was much much better. I could see
that the inflammation had shrunk significantly. However, I got
an accident on my left back heel so I had to rest it in case it
got worse - still a little painful, but no inflammation (lucky
enough). Have not taken IBU for quite some time just let me to
access the injuries/recovery accurately.
Life has been extremely stressful, slept ~6 hours per day at most.
One major reason that I stopped running. Telling myself that
just take it easy and enjoy an injury-free running later. But as
times passed by, I started to worry my MAF degradation. So started
to run again. Now I run 4.5-5 miles per day, less than half I used
to. My highest mileage peaked just over 70 miles/week right before
I stopped running early this month.
It was cool this morning, only 53F around 6:30am. I had a 4-mile
slow run. Here is what I had (no warm up to save time, and a little
hilly with long up- and down-slopes):
Lap Pace Ave HR
1 10:30 134
2 9:52 139
3 10:05 142
4 10:01 145
5 walking
I actually tried to keep 10:00 pace instead of keep constant HR.
The HR is 10bpm lower than during the weekend when it was really
hot. But the significant increase of average HR over just 4 miles
indicates that my MAF actually went down.
Will run regularly and ramp up my weekly mileage little by little.... |
