收集了一些新名词,以后也可以滥竽充数了。
"The easy run" or a "recovery run" is simply a run at an easy pace done for
recovery purposes or just simply enjoyment. Most of a beginner’s runs
should be easy runs. These runs improve a runner’s aerobic conditioning.
The intensity of these runs should permit conversing using complete
sentences (60-75% of your maximum heart rate).
"Jogs" usually refer to slow running done to recover between intervals.

1. 四不像的tempo run(11-28-2013)
根据我所在马拉松业余团队的训练计划,这个星期四傍晚是集体tempo run,总共跑60
分钟,其中45分钟是马拉松速度(MP)。然而,由于这个星期四是感恩节,主教练Mike
告诉大家取消集体tempo run,各人自己练习。我所居住的城市在感恩节这天风和日丽
,是跑步的好日子;再加上因为星期三下午单位提前放假,我没有去健身房做cross
training,休息了一天;另外,又想着感恩节当天晚上的大餐;因此,我准备齐全、踌
躇满志地来到我和队友们通常练习tempo run的地方,计划沿着同样线路好好地跑一个
tempo run。
按照训练计划是60分钟中的前7分半钟是warm up,22分半钟是MP;然后返回,22分半钟
是MP,7分半钟是cool down。然而,我warm up了10分钟还是不能加速到MP,完全没有

If your long run is longer than goal race, for example:
you are training for 5K, but run 10 miles long run, or
you are training for 10K and run 12 miles long run, or
you are training for half marathon and run 16 miles long run
These cases mostly you don't need to run a lot at race pace in long run, maybe run some race pace miles for half marathon case.
For marathon, you won't be running long run longer than the race distance, definitely some miles at race pace are needed in long run. Then again

There was a small 5k race 5 miles north to downtown State College today. I
found on the local club's website that several members will attend the race,
and do some longrun before and after the race in that area so I decided to
go.
The race started at 9am, and they planned to have a 6 mile run from 7:50.
However I missed the highway exit and wasted another 20 minutes turning back

How much do you eat/drink while running?
During training, on runs of 4 hours of more I generally eat one GU per hour
after the first two hours. I have found this to usually be enough but
certainly not ideal in terms of energy needs. In the summer I will carry a
20 oz. bottle on runs over 2 hours (and refill at streams when I feel the
need). In the winter, I generally need to be running 4 hours in order to
bring a bottle along. This kind of fueling allows me to keep running but I

每次去hiking前都觉得会太boring hiking后看着那时候的照片还挺高兴

Turkey run到scott's run来回8 miles 路很平 三个小时不到就能走完
到Difficult run太远 来回16 miles 可能在去往difficult run的半途折返

I came back to TX in August. Even I have lived here for about 5 years, it
took me a while to get used to the summer weather. When I decided to run CIM
, my training time was shorter than 18 weeks while longer than 12 weeks. I
decided to continue my easy run and then started the 12 week Advanced
Marathon training.
Although I targeted on 3:40:00, I had many difficulties through the program,
especially the Marathon pace run and the earlier workout.
