我们去年买了自己的房子。自己住的。
这回申请loan的时候，lender问这个是自己住还是投资。
我想说给父母买的，不想说是投资。
不知道他们问这个问题的目的是什么？
应该怎么回答比较好呢？当然不是故意要说谎，只是这个本来就很模糊，可能让父母住
几天，然后剩下的时候租出去。但是想知道怎么说比较对自己有利。

对银行都一样。房租的收入反正要交税。 |

多可以投资的东西呢.如果真是给父母买,那我闭嘴.

还是很划算的。

The rate for investment property is higher than primary residence.
If you lie to the bank and get a lower rate for your investment property. It
is a fraud.
At the closing, the lender will ask you to sign a paper to indicate whether
you obtain this loan for primary residence or for investment purpose.
If you are not going to live there, it is an investment property.

If you lie to the bank and get a lower rate for your investment property. It
is a fraud.
At the closing, the lender will ask you to sign a paper to indicate whether
you obtain this loan for primary residence or for investment purpose.
If you are not going to live there, it is an investment property.

发帖数: 3952 | 9 没fraud那么严重。拿owner occupied贷款的房子租出去的多了。
想想如果你买第二个房子，然后把第一个房子租出去。
难道你还找银行把第一个房子refi成investment property?
你就申请owner occupied。了不得自己搬去住上两星期。
然后总可以突然发现自己不喜欢住了吧。

发帖数: 308 | 10 对，主要就是贷款利率不同。昨天正好有美国同事在探讨这个问题。不过好像有三种，
primary residence, second home, investment property.不知道你可不可以声称是第
二种，利率应该也是介于两者中间吧。我想有的有钱人在海边买的vacation home应该
也不算investment property吧。
