Man Pulls Gun On Hit-And-Run Driver In Bloomfield

BLOOMFIELD, Pa. -- Police said the victim of a hit-and-run took matters into
his own hands Monday to stop the driver from getting away.
Investigators said two vehicles were involved in a small fender bender on
Venter and Craig streets Monday afternoon in Bloomfield.
Police said the man who caused the accident, Matt Jones, drove away from the
scene. The driver who was hit in the crash, Troy Potter, followed the man
onto the Bloomfield Bridge, said investigators.
Police said Potter exited his vehicle and approached the man who allegedly
caused the wreck.
Potter told police that he felt threatened when the other driver attempted
to flee from the bridge. That's when police said Potter pulled out his gun
and ordered the driver out of his truck. After the driver was out of the
vehicle, Potter called police.
"I was outside this vehicle. He's boxed in. He's a nut. He just hit me. Hit
and run," said Potter."My gun is a weapon just like that vehicle with a
reckless driver."
Investigators said Potter is in the army and is licensed to carry a weapon.
He will not be charged.
Jones said Potter took the situation to far.
"I think it was a little over dramatic. I don't know if you got a shot of
the damage in the back of his car, but it was little tiny marks," said Jones.
Jones is charged with leaving the scene of an accident. | f*********r
