w****1 发帖数: 4931 | 2 It is precisely because of weak leg muscles that your knees end up hurting.
You need strong muscles to protect the knees. There is a technique to hill
running. When going downhill try to land on your forefoot or the outside
edge of your feet, not on heels. This takes practice and you need strong
calf muscles to do it. I suggest running on flat grounds first, and
incorporate hills into your running slowly and gradually.

are you overweight, which put a lot of excessive stress on your knees?
did you warm up?
if you are looking for some leg muscles, do more squats/lunges/leg presses.

w****1 发帖数: 4931 | 22 Typically, after an all-out race, one needs to rest for a while. But if one
runs a marathon distance at a relaxed pace, for the well trained, it doesn't
impact the body that much. Elite ultramarathoners train at 200+ miles per
week. That is more than a marathon per day on average, for months and even
years. The human body can get used to almost anything. What it takes is
consistent training, building up gradually. The more you run, the faster
your body will recover from a run.

w****1 发帖数: 4931 | 24 You must be a forefoot striker then, if the calf is your bottleneck. For
very long distances such as the marathon, forefoot strike is normally
considered not the most efficient way to run (of course there are plenty of
eastern african elites who run the marathon on forefoot). Most runners go
for midfoot/heel strike.
