about some rumor in system fields. The rumor said that this year, maybe the
best Ph.D student in system fields is a guy called Mike

interested in his works on reliable device drivers, and didn't see his
security papers. However, since he is in a large group, I think that the
number of paper is reasonable, since he can be an co-author in his group
member's papers.

acm dissertation award吗？不知道那个评选的标准是什么。看了一眼，历史
上只有一个中国人得过，还是个女的。嗬嗬

hard to say. Maybe not. Maybe this guy is one of top picks in system area
among fresh PhD graduates.
For acm dissertation award, it really depends on how the award committees
taste the significance of research works in different fields. I think theory
candidates generally have more chances.
hehe...she is not working in academia any more.

不输sigcomm, sigmod, siggraph。

I heard that this guy got the recommendation letters to say that he is the
best student in a decade. Since Lazowska,Brian Bershad write the letters for
him, then he is really something.

对于同领域或相似领域的会议，还有一点参考价值。
