It seems that you like scientific computing areas, and give their conferences
really high rank.
Why put ICS/IPDPS in here? I always think that they focus more on architecture
field. BTW, for system work, ICS may be not bad than ICDCS, and both better
than IPDPS.

hear that acceptence ratio is about 15%.
Another example is ICS. Currently it has very low acceptence ratio. But who
will consider it as the first tier conference.

接下来，SIGMETRICS/MobiHoc差不多，质量名声都很不错。
只是SIGMETRICS局限于performance，范围较小，影响力远不如SIGCOMM。
MobiHoc的领域和Mobicom一样宽广，但是风格偏理论，所以人气稍稍不如Mobicom.
SIGMETRICS是老牌，MobiHoc是新贵。都可以打四星。
随着跳wireless这个火坑的人数继续增长，MobiHoc的地位巩固提高是可以预见的。
以上四个会议，如果有第一作者发表，作为phd学生是一件值得自豪的事情。
接下来，就要轮到INFOCOM和ICNP了。
INFOCOM是一个被灌水灌烂了的老牌。想当年，四星半不算吹牛。
现在已经成了类似于国内卖文凭的，来点关系后门，就可以灌上一篇，装装门面。
当然，好歹也是老牌名校卖文凭，质量和关系至少都有一样较强才行。
ICNP还是比较扎实的，虽然没什么大提高，但是抵制了扩招风，保持了质量。
以上两个会议，如果有第一作者发表，作为phd学生不算丢人。
但是千万不要自我感觉良好，更不能吹牛，尤其是INFOCOM已经有

个人人为会议排名对新手有很大的启蒙作用，phd读了一年多之后就就只能起参考作用。
因为不是每篇SOSP，sigcomm都感人肺腑催人泪下，也不是每篇globecom都空洞乏味。
原因有很多种，比如deadline不合适，写作水平,或是很排外的community,派系斗争等。
另外领域里还有更细的划分，例如network里如果不搞wireless, 为什么要看重
MobiHoc? 如果搞measurement, IMC是很好的会但是没有被提到。
顺带替其他领域的好会打点广告，比如POPL, PLDI; ISCA, HPCA; NIPS, ICML
.....
Anyway, 新手尽量避免抱着普通会议的proceedings一篇一篇死扣，但是看到
所谓“烂会”的文章就带上有色眼镜就显得naive了
