George Steinbrenner met with General Manager Brian Cashman, Manager Joe Torre
and other executives of the Yankees yesterday at Malio's, the restaurant near
the team's training complex in Tampa, Fla.
Because Torre seldom attends these off-season meetings and was scheduled to
leave Tampa last night, Steinbrenner, the team's principal owner, most likely
wanted him there for his thoughts on the makeup of next season's c |
