意义不大。我见到很多孩子5-6岁就每个月出去比赛，8岁以下的俱乐部记录全包了，稍
微大一点成绩就不那么突出了。
还有，看看是不是都是out of town meets. 到别的城市去会（大人、孩子）更辛苦。
话说回来，很多孩子会觉得swim meet is a lot of fun.如果孩子愿意去，我们当家长
的应该support。 我觉得7岁可以开始去meet, 但不一定每个月都去。也许可以先从(赛
季末的）Championship meets开始。 如果孩子的成绩已经很好，就另当别论了。
我家孩子是8岁的第一个赛季末开始参加meet的，一开始一个赛季去1-2次的样子。
如果meets 都是local的，可以适当多去一点。应该能提高孩子的兴趣和
competitiveness。Intrasquad meet 和自己club host的meet 应该要参加 （一般不要

有关management的事情在2周一次的management会议上说了，还有strategic meeting,
集体讨论完了
再说说自己的情况，刚进公司半年，虽然观望了一段时间，也差不多了解部门情况了，
但我想走稳妥路线，不想提激进的想法，对老板想做的东西，不反对也不觉得很好，就
按他的想法去做而已
感觉这个1：1的meeting,是个鸡肋，但又不放松，每次会前就要准备半天，想想老板会
说些什么，我是女生，又不会讲笑话，也不会“八卦”，没有幽默感，对美国文化不感
兴趣。跟他的meeting,我唯一对自己的要求是，沟通顺畅，不要惹怒他（有好几次
meeting,他对我汇报的东西有点不满，主要是他没有耐心听我讲完，就讲一大堆，然后
由不得我解释），还有就是大家打哈哈，让他高高兴兴就行了
最好是，每次一对一meeting，都让他happy,早日给我加工资或升职（有点在做梦了，
哈哈）

以为我眼睛怎么了，后来发现是流泪了，我还更傻逼的说可能是太紧张了吧，老板非常
nice，说meeting有什么紧张的呀，又不是考核。我说我这是第一次和您meeting，不知
道怎么了，，然后缓了缓，继续聊，，后来他问我是不是第一次做postdoc，我说这是
我的第3个postdoc，同学早就在囯内黄金十年了，出国的也都当faculty或者去公司了
。不知道是不是想到了这点的心酸，或许可能没缓过来，或许是想到了父母为我付出的
心酸加上最近一直觉得有点对不起他们，，我居然一下子又失控了，比刚才的还严重，
，这下啊可能给老板吓着了，，赶紧说，，这么地吧，我们take 10min break. I will
get some water for you.
真是什么情况都有啊我，，不过meeting的整个过程还算比较顺利。
PS，为了攒人品，发个今天meeting的问题，是for entry level postdoc，所以比较简

警察请他出去之前，应该有过不少来回对话了。
而且，board meeting也是要赶时间表的，不能随便让人在下面发言的。
否则话题争议起来，会议就没完没了开不完了。
因为我参加board meeting旁听，作为听众，我很赞成发言要有控制，
因为我也不想会议超时太多。很多point， make了就可以了。发言30分钟
未必比发言5分钟产生更多的效果。因为很多话就是车轱辘来回转，不停得
重复。
我不赞成任何人在参加board meeting时，不被允许的前提下超时发言，
或者在观众席里随意开始发言，那是影响所有与会者的。
每次board meeting, 都有给听众发言的机会。在这个机会里，在规定的时间
里，可以畅所欲言。如果时间不够，可以要求延长。或者可以去联合更多家长，在发言
时间发言。甚至可以在场外游行示威。这都可以接受。 |

当借口，曾去 FISA 法院申请，但被驳回，记住对 FISA court 一般几乎 98%的申请都
会被同意，但这个太离谱了。
奥巴和H 他们动脑筋，想出这么一个，就是 通过 民主党左翼一些组织 就是这个
Fusion GPS，来set up一个trump他们 meeting 俄“官员”。

的individual meeting.
一般这时individual meeting的第一个问题都是，我和dean的meeting怎么样？甚至在
lunch和dinner也会碰到这个问题。
请问这是什么意思？不知道他们想问出个什么东西来？我一般都说很好，但是不知道是

1. 给一天内一堆meeting的interval，求最少需要用几个meeting room ？
2. 所有员工需要参加一个meeting，给一段时间内所有员工的schedule， 然后每个员
工可以选择自己空闲时的两个slot 去参加 (只需要参加一次)。问怎么安排最少的
meeting ？

发帖数: 1 | 35 本人T4狗一枚，差不多一年之前加入狗家，目前经历了两次考评，都是consistently
meets expectations。更糟糕的是，我马上要休两个多月paternity leave。这六个月
来我趁娃出生之前拼命工作，想拿个好点的performance，可是没想到还是只拿了meet
。这样下去，我下次review（包含了我的paternity leave）肯定更是只能meet了。
请问狗家各位老司机，这样的情况是不是很危险？我之前就有换组的计划，因为觉得本
小组在大组里面比较边缘化，抢不到很多有impact的项目。现在看起来更是觉得好失落
。不知道一休完paternity leave马上联系转组如何？我之前两次的meet expectations
会不会被其他组嫌弃？还请各位老司机支招！
PS：我知道很多工作很拼的同事都只休一个月的paternity leave，可是我家娃是双胞
胎，家里完全忙不过来。而且我也真心觉得父亲和新生儿多bonding一下总是更好，所
以狠心请了两个多月的假，还请大家轻拍。 |

最近的故事可能和ER有点关系。先是上一次八月份的er，MEET从2点3下到了1点5，然后
在这一次的ER之前，一路回升到了2点5。这支股票的ER，在目前这个阶段似乎没有太大
的意义--收入是可预测的，盈利是可预测的，手机广告的增长也是可以预测的。一切都
是可以正确预测的话，er就没有太大的意义了。这一次的er刚好赶在了板块（以FB为首
）调整的阶段，因此又顺理成章的下去了。由此得来的是，这个股票目前来说，它拥有
的是起伏，内涵的是板块，蕴藏的是暴戾。
从3年图上看，MEET似乎处于一个小半圆碗底向上的阶段。
该股的一切基本财务数据没有重大问题。焦点集中在它能发展多快。鉴于明年股市可能
会炒作FB这样的股票，同板块的MEET有望大捞一票。
买入原因为概念发展加炒作。
买入风险为一旦此股未被炒作，可能长期在此区间徘徊，并且下探到1块5。
今日建中仓@1.80，策略为慢捂。如果跳水下到1块5之下且无反弹，考虑减仓。 |

今天收到一个貌似还不错的学校的小秘给我发的信,说
Search Committee will be attending the AMS meeting from January 6-9, 2011,
New Orleans, LA. As such, please let us know if you’ll be attending the
meeting and the suitable dates/timeslots, so that we may proceed with
further arrangements.
今年我没有打算去AMS meeting. 如果我回信给search committee说我不去AMS meeting
, 他们是不是就立马不考虑我的申请了? 还是如果他们对我仍然感兴趣,会通过别的方
法(比如打电话)和我聊聊?
请大牛指点一二. 谢谢 |

Boston. More than 20 persons attended this meeting.
After discuss with Dr. Luo, we decided not to release the video to Youtube
due to lots of personal privacy in the meeting. However, we are planning to
release the slides later after revision.
In next meeting, I am planning to invite IM resident/fellow/attending to
discuss IM and application. |

先说说背景，入职一年半的新码工，组里大约十六七人，老板老印，除了另外一个近50
的中国人和两个白人，都是老印。开始入职以来，老印老板没找人带我，只给我两个小
project，基本是maintenance。写的代码不多，全靠自己学习琢磨，我也挺努力，这两
个project学得还行，写的代码没出什么事，客人偶尔有好评，无差评。除此之外，其
他时间自己就努力学习。就但一年多来，没人指导，自己技术提高不多，眼界有限。给
老板提了不下20次，找人带我。他先后找了那个中国人和另外一个老印带我一个月左右
。那个中国人，脾气比较差，问题稍微问多一些，就大声吼回来：I do not have time
for your questions. 然后就闷声不说话，也不搭理我。他愿意答问题的时候，也是
