China's involvement in Vietnam war was indeed very small. Maybe in term of
number of people is large, but at command level, nobody gained real field
command experience.
The scale of operation against India was still small compared to the 79 war
with Vietnam. The terrain and logistics simply don't allow it. Plus, it
was such a quick and easy victory that not enough lessons could be learned
from it. |

WSJ：U.S. Lifts Arms Embargo on Vietnam
The U.S. will fully lift the decadeslong ban on sales of lethal arms to
Vietnam, President Barack Obama announced, saying this will end a "lingering
vestige of the Cold War" and pave the way for more-normal relations between
the two countries.
Mr. Obama said sales will still have to meet certain requirements, including
ones related to human rights. |
