1975年开始，越南政府取缔了一切批发生意（绝大部分是华人的生意），禁止私下买卖
，把华人赶到农村种地，或者编入军队。越南政府还充公外币（主要是美元），要求外
币持有者把外币换成越南元。这些措施受到越南华人的抵制，导致很多的冲突，在西贡
唐人街（streets of Cholon）爆发流血冲突，使得很多人死亡（full of corpses）。
后来越南和柬埔寨、中国冲突，导致很大一部分越南华人离开越南，17万人从陆路进入
广西，当时每天进入广西的人数有4000到5000人。而南部越南华人离开越南到东南亚等
地，东南亚每个月接受5000难民（boat people）。最后大概26万到了中国，40万到了
东南亚（幸存率不到50％，可怜！）。中国2007年才立法给了这些难民公民身份。

involvement didn't in any way shape or form say Vietnam will be reunited.
Who knew south Vietnam would fall so easily and quickly?
If they didn't reunite, N. vietnam would have supported China in retaking
entire Nansha islands, just as they did supporting China in retaking the
