我们这里的pension是2%乘以工作年限乘以最高一年的工资。
假如我工作了三十年退休，退休前工资是十五万，那么我退休后每年能弄到2%*30*15w=
9w.
假如我工作了五年就跳槽到别的地方了，跳槽时工资是十万，那么我退休的时候可以从
原学校拿到2%*5*10w=1w，虽然比较少，但新的学校还是有退休计划，所以并不是完全
带不走。
一般不能带走是因为没有vested（五年之内一般是），这种情况下只能带走50%。
另外一般配合pension的defined contribution plan在vested后是可以100%带走的。 |

option1: 学校出8%of base salary-9000, + state pension (需要自己contribute 8%
）。第一部分vesting periond是三年，pension部分是五年。pension是62岁以后可以
拿工龄＊0.2*最高的五年平均工资
option2:学校出9% of base salary. 没有pension，这部分是三年vest。
然后还可以自己选择403b或者457b
这种情况是option1还是2比较好啊。两种都有学校match，只不过第二个多1%＋810.三
年后学校match的都可以拿走，只是第一种多了pension，不过需要自己contribute 8%
左右，但是如果五年左右离职的话自己的可以拿走，也可以放在那里等退休再拿。。 |

钱，和学校没有关系了。坏处是收益的不确定性较大。如果你喜欢，可以选这一类。
Pension是defined benefit，好处是不用自己担心，旱涝保收。而且寿命越长越划算。
坏处是vesting period较长，UC的好像是5年vest，也就是说，5年不到就跳槽，你只能
拿回自己contribute的部分，学校部分就作废了。 |

这部分股票的税了? 经手我这些股票的broker公司是不是会将这些股票的交易材料纪录
上报给IRS? 他们并没有将这些股票的交易材料纪录作为税务材料寄给我.
感觉有些不甘心,被预先扣除了这么多的税(40%), 总想着要回来一些.
另外,我如果报税的话,这些股票的 cost basis是当初award给我时的股票价格?,还是0?

basis按照当时的市场价算, 而不是0.
本质上, rsu vesting的时候, 等于全部算入你的cash收入, 按照正常税率扣税(实际上
是扣股数). 然后你再用cash按照当时的市场价买入那些(扣税剩下的)股票. |

。一般match更高% of salary就更低。两个都高那vesting schedule大概就是6年100%。
Match和cap和vesting schedule 都很好的就是非常好的401k plan.

有合同说公司给你办绿卡的钱如果你提前离职要赔吗？一般没有这个说法。
401k的钱，你应该在账户上可以看到vest是多少。vest 的就是你可以带走的。那是
你的钱，你跟谁闹翻了也是你的。
至于你说最快最方便，不知道是什么意思。好像你怕慢了钱就被没收了？这是不可能的。
401k的钱可以
1. 留在原雇主的plan里面，如果原雇主有这个选项的话。
2. 转到 Rollover IRA。
3. 转到新雇主的 401k. |

先说下现在公司的情况:
一年多前sign on现在的(中等规模)公司的时候, base给的挺低的,100K/ yr. Bonus offer 上没有写明,就是看公司performance. RSU给了大概50K价值的股票,分3年vest.
过去一年的bonus情况是给了价值15k的新stocks(也是3年Vest),6% 的cash bonus.今年我的base给涨成了103K, 就是typtical的3% raise了.
算了一下,现在公司的全部compensation算起来在120K到125K区间,另外还有那些sign on RSU.

after 90 days. If you haven’t exercised your vested options, your ownership
goes to zero. Even if the startup eventually gets acquired for a billion

should probably try to stick it through to an exit.

只是我看到的vest计划，一般是给你一个总数M，四年内vest完，要么平均M/4，要么按
一定的百分比，越到后面越高。这样他们才可能留住人。否则，你第一年拿的多，就逼
得他们一定要在第二年的时候给你涨工资，否则你走了，他们白耽误功夫。
我觉得有个期望的base，还是就按照base谈吧，多争取点好处呗
你要是怕丢了offer就从了呗，这个听起来也不错 |

Vesting schedule 要问清楚。
If it is a startup, in normal case, 20K is option. If 4 year vesting.
You get 5K shares after one year, then 20k/48 = 417 every month.
The value of option really depends, can be millions, or can be nothing. |

Madison 城市很好，确实没错 在中西部算是小有名气的left-wing liberal city, 很
多hippies文化除了这里只有到西海岸了，教育治安那都是全国top的。问题是Epic在
Verona, 离Madison还是有点远了，中间要过几片玉米地了。 Verona住过的人都知道，
中午出处都找不到饭吃
钱，说给的好的那是都被蒙了还替人数钱，说是给75k，满打满算也就能毛入80k。我当
年在的时候拼死拼活Review也很好结果才拿了3000的bonus + 0股票，那个所谓的stock
option更是可笑至极，一个Private的公司，股价完全由CEO一个人说的算（Judy 一个
人就拿着75%+的股权）。我走的时候
有3000多option, 一分钱都没拿出来。
Health Insurance，保险不是免费的，每个人每月扣掉30-300$。作healtheCare还不全
付，都算到Salary里了
401k，极度无耻的match plan，听起来很好其实很鸡肋, 每年不固定 5-15% match, 你

因为80%在最后两年vest，所以每年600股。。。。折算到现在价格是180K/year

不能卖，也不能claim stocks) 得到股权的日期就是授予日（Grant Date，也叫
Vesting Commencement Date）；
这个日期一年之后，可以选择执行（卖掉或者claim stocks)你所有拥有的option的25%
（up to 25%，一般就都换股票或者直接卖掉了，因为拿到option的时候没cost，也不
是为了避险，不用白不用)。
卖掉option就直接套现了；
用Option入股票（注意执行价格，不过估计你的package应该很好），你的情况下是用
（远）低于市场价格的现金，购入股票，比如市场价格100刀/股，你Option的执行价格
是50刀/股。相当于你可以用50美金每股的价格购入价格为100美金每股的股票。
