，我在现实中时而也听到我旁边的人这么说。
在提到“简单体力劳动”的时候，能听出这些人的轻蔑口气。大意是这些工作都是傻瓜
能做的。
Unskilled Labor在美国的意思是高中毕业的人就能做，不需要大学毕业就能完成的工
作。或者是可以交给非法移民比如老墨或福建偷渡客去做，美国本地人不愿意做的工作
。或者是工资很低的工作，给法定最低工资，或者略高于法定最低工资就可以雇到人去
做的工作。 或者是可以从美国外包给中国的工厂去做的工作。
最常提到的Unskilled Labor是在麦当劳里翻肉饼。 实际上很多人认为厨师的工作是
Unskilled Labor，美国的中餐烹饪几乎是美国的饮食业里难度最高的了，但美国所谓
的中餐雇无经验的老墨就可以做。 我也注意到美国中餐馆的厨师，基本上都是新移民
或偷渡客，并且他们在来美国之前，在中国的时候没有任何厨房工作经验。
即使美国中餐馆的厨师在中国是熟手厨师也没用，因为中餐馆的出品都非常简单，并且

定地说那件工作是简单体力劳动？
比如很多人以轻蔑的语气描绘烹饪的工作，“在麦当劳翻肉饼，” 而说这话的人自己
根本不会烹饪。
比如很多美国人认为组装苹果手机属于Unskilled Labor，而说这话的美国人并不能胜
任这种组装工作。
这些工作确实是简单体力劳动。 问题是，这种话应该由会做的人说。
一个连一两位数的加减法都做不好的人，却轻蔑地说笔算五位数的加减乘除是
Unskilled Labor。 没错，笔算五位数的加减乘除确实是Unskilled Labor，只要是经
过训练的，不太傻的人，都能做到很快就算出结果，并且能保证结果９９％正确，但此

读研究生的时候, 学校的ESL做了一个调查, 对于英语为母语的美国大学生, 为了学会
不同外语语种 (根据熟练程度定义为1/2/3/4级， 譬如说3级要求能听懂正规广播80%以
上)需要花费的时间和努力是有很大差别的. 同样达到2级水平, 日语和中文需要1200小
时, 西班牙与葡萄牙语就只需要700小时等等.
你说的翻肉饼切菜之类的, 本版琐男实践机会少, 很可能干不过unskilled worker, 但
是他们花费了数年学会编程统计之类技能, 产生了强烈的自信, 觉得你说的那些简单技
能是可以在数十小时内掌握和达到合格水平的, 即便不能像"卖油翁"那样达到神乎其技
, 也没关系, 因为雇主不会因为你是个卖油翁就付双份工钱.
从我的角度, 我觉得琐男不应该看不起修自行车翻肉饼的, 因为这些人有可能 (很低的
概率)具有编程统计或者发帖等天赋, 可以学得非常快做得非常好, 但因为性格或经济
原因没能实现那数年的积累, 所以只能干简单体力劳动.
但是一个人不擅长做某项工作, 譬如切菜搬砖, 仍然有资格自信坚定地说该工作是简单

1. 可以继续维持F1学生身份，攻读一个额外的学位。
一个额外的学位可以让申请人在职场更具备竞争力。本科的学生继续就读硕士，则可以
额外获得硕士毕业后享有的OPT。而已有硕士学位人士获取另一个硕士学位则不享有。
所以在时间上需要稍加安排，最好是在硕士毕业前拿到工作并与雇主谈妥工作签证申请
事宜，等到秋季毕业以后在H1B工作签证生效后可以马上开始工作。可以在硕士期间积
极寻找校外实习并争取转正。实习期间需要向学校申请CPT（另一种工作许可）。
在你现有的OPT结束后，如果你觉得还想在某个专业方向继续进修的话，完全可以再申

比如，可以去帮客户调试机器，但是不能开发这个机器（硬件软件等）
你到底有没有去查过官方文档啊？只是不停用日常语言在这里搅。
日常生活中的词语和法律文档是有不同的定义和含义的。
就跟resident一样，上学、国税、州税都有不同的定义，你非要用日常
生活的resident来说事有什么意义呢？法律条文说了算。
employment并不是单纯的有一份劳动合同，而是要满足一系列的测试条件
b1如果要work，也是要申请EAD的，什么情况怎么申请，uscis都有条文
否则，我只要在中国开一个外包公司，就可以很容易绕过H4不能为美国公
司工作的限制了。

是真的。我曾经Google到一个论坛，主要是EB3 广州CP在讨论排期（感觉说粤语的比较
多），那个论坛里应该很多Unskilled worker，有人就举了个养鸡场的例子，当然美国
雇主必须要有雇人的需要。EB3里面分好几类，IT业会计之类的是属于Skilled/
Professional workers吧，可能厨师按摩师也属于这类。我记得EB3 Unskilled worker
有全世界每年5000名额的限制。不sure这些申请人和他们的家属占不占EB3C 2500的名额
（2800-300血卡），不占的话，有可能排期比我们看到的EB3C的排期要晚。 |

里面的，
然后版上还有人问过没有学士学位的，这个我觉得应该是Skilled Worker里面的，
然后其它本科学位以上的都是Professional里面的，就是现在说的普通EB3
但是几年前我查过，如果是厨师这个职位是不行的，但可能可以包装成比如食品加工这
种职位符合unskilled worker，还比如Nursing可能就是Skilled Worker, 因为我知道
有人办过H-1C，不能办H-1B, 有机会我去找律师再问问。 |

喜欢这个称呼么？在自由民主的灯塔美国，说话是要讲究political correctness的。
