一一个不欢迎unskilled foreign labor的发达国家（reluctant host)， 而且语言也
是一大问题. 另外，日本对ethnic homogeneity比美国要看重得多。美国真要一堆年轻

，共和党一上台，就会给STEM好政策。民主党把非法摆在合法之前，是事实。但共和党
人家完全就是不要移民啊。
我给格老说句公道话：格老是烙印的公敌，格老最痛恨ICC Abuse H1B/L1，但格老并不
死硬反对EB类的合法移民，格老是个讲理的人。现在共和党上台搞个Sessions这样的宝
货当移民委员会主席，本身就很说明现在台上的南方共和党对所谓高科技移民的态度嘛
。共和党为啥不让Ted Cruz当移民委员会主席呢？Cruz比Sessions更死硬反对奥巴马，
但Cruz非常支持STEM绿卡。Sessions就是个文盲加流氓，他反对所有的移民，不管合法

Basically postdoc salary level is similar to moderatedly skilled blue
collar worker and entry level white collar worker.

6月13日，美国国务院宣布了2007年7月的移民签证排期。职业移民的所有优先类别（除
了unskilled worker之外）签证名额对所有申请人均为可用。这一消息重新点燃了成千
上万期待申请绿卡但因为排期的倒退而不得不一直等待的申请人的希望。这些潜在申请
人和他们的律师一起在过去的两周内努力地准备申请资料，准备在7月初就提交他们的
申请。
然而就在本周一，7月2日，国务院又公布了一份新修改的7月份的排期。新的排期宣布
：2007年的职业移民名额已经全部用完，到10月1日2008财政年度的名额可用之前，移
民局将不再接受任何新的以职业移民为基础I-485身份调整申请。
