Master，一个是旗下的Data Mining track。完全不懂这两个有啥区别。为了将来好找
工作我应该申请哪一个啊？哪个学的课程更实用？
感觉data mining方向必修课就是多了一门data mining 1和一门data mining 2，
而且选修课规定的比较死；然后Statistics Computing的必修课没有这个，选修课很灵
活。data mining是不是学的深一些？
真心请求搞统计的大哥大姐们帮我分析分析啊！我到底该选哪个啊？申请15号就截止了
，我还啥也不懂，唉。

终不是走理论数学的道路。而初中阶段的 science 课，没有用 math 建模的概念。
从这个角度看，娃课上的 explain experimental probability vs theoretical
probability，应该更多的从 physics / computer-science 建模的角度去看，而不是
钻 theoretical mathematics 的牛角尖。

To me, dwelling on the details of a theoretical flaw that
could cause 5mph error, while the whole theory is built on the basis
of "no air", is completely missing the point. It may have scientific
significance but has very little engineering sense.

在我的眼里，M Jordan无疑是武林中的泰山北斗。他师出MIT，现在在berkeley坐
镇一方，
在附近的两所名校（加stanford）中都可以说无出其右者，stanford的Daphne Koller
虽然也
声名遐迩，但是和Jordan比还是有一段距离。
Jordan身兼stat和cs两个系的教授，从他身上可以看出Stat和ML的融合。
Jordan 最先专注于mixtures of experts，并迅速奠定了自己的地位，我们哈尔滨

on theoretical view. Programming/OS/Database/Software Engineering are the
major courses besides the theoretical computer science courses, i.e.
computability, algorithms, discrete math.
CE - to train Computer Engineers. Mostly on applied computer engineering
education, less theoretical than CS, but as Computer majors, basic computer
courses will also be offered. some programs are pretty close to EE, which
you can find lots |
