发帖数: 93 | 15 主要是会议的大小，也就是参加人数来区分的。 symposium 要小些， conference大些。
最小的是workshop. 还可以有multi-conference, 就更大. 一般一个新的研究方向，
参与者不多，就可能采用workshop的方式。等研究方向确定了，参与的人多了，
就升级成symposium。如果发展壮大了，再升级成conference。一个例外是
multi-conference, 要是把几个不是很相关的研究领域凑在一起，那主办人有凑数
骗钱的嫌疑.
如果单从人数上讲，workshop的paper应该是最容易被接受的，因为竞争对手也不多。
但是会议的reputation并不是由参加人数决定的。所以主要还是看会议的级别. |

，有不少做过各种conference的organizer，比如在我们领域，MRS/APS/ACS等这些大型
会议的某个小会场的organizer。感觉除了发表文章，做organizer是一个不错的认识人
、也宣传自己的好机会。不知道一般情况下这些organizer是由谁选的，上一届的
organizer推荐的吗？如何才能找到机会做这样的organizer呢？请有经验的前辈不吝赐
教，尤其是APS和MRS这两个会议！我基本是每年参加，但也就是做个oral。

照着你说的，和chair说了。 chair 和 dean不是一个人。Chair是个女的，dean是男的。
A 是 chair手下的一个人，chair愿意让她写proposal.
Chair 同意我不参加，说以后有合适的机会再参加。结果Dean又跑来让我继续参加这个
symposium，别退出。我打算尊重chair的意见，因为chair是我的直接领导。
你说的对，我参加与不参加，都是小事，都不重要。

有meeting organizer的一封短信，但是有点怕IO RFE 问审了多少abstracts,从中选了
几个之类的问题...
Review有13个paper, 7个journal,觉得有点弱，所以想加上这个，请大家和大蜜蜂给出
