字里有conference字眼的该没问题，叫symposium的该也没问题，因为很多top会议都叫
symposium。
会议demo估计不算了，才1，2页，而且可以再投的。
那workshop呢？感觉页数也不少啊，一般5或6页，也要参加并present talk，并且不能
再投其他会议了。

之所以不简称S&P，是为了跟一个magazine----IEEE Security & Privacy区分开来。被认
为是计算机安全的最高会议，比ACM的CCS更受尊敬。该会自称接受一切与计算机安全的文
章，但我感觉其以应用型为主，对理论性的文章尤其crypto-flavor的文章非常排斥。
CCS：92分，ACM SIGSAC的年会。该会宣称只接受practical papers，然而事实上却是安全
方面最diversified的会议，从纯粹密码学的文章到非常应用性的文章都有。传统上该会议
的politics比较严重，但今年的program committee非常强大，有望使会议质量进一步提高
。
USENIX Security：91分。USENIX是systems research方面的重要组织，主办了systems方面的若干重要会议，如OSDI（操作系统的第二会议）等。USENIX Security Symposium则是systems securi |

悉了。会议有IEEE VR, ACM VRST. EG VAST.等等。
下面说一说Visualization这个方向吧。这个方向最好的会议是就每年的Visualizatio
n (VIS).当然，如果有好的文章，也可以投到SIGGRAPH.早期的一些Visualization经典
文章比如Marching Cubes都是在SIGGRAPH上发表的。当然那时候还没有Visualization这
个会议。1990年才开始第一届VIS会议。现在录取率一般在三分之一。2005年是 88/268
。这里还有相关的两个会议Symposium on Volume Visualization and Graphics (VolV
is)和Symposium on Parallel and Large-Data Visualization and Graphics (PVG)。
原来都是每两年一次。交替和Vis一同举行。但是从2005年开始都并入Vis会议了。Vis每

We are organizing a symposium for the coming ASME conference IMECE07.
The symposium is about modeling and innovations of traditional and non-
traditional machining processes (including FEA of machining processes).
So far we have about 30 paper submittals.
We are looking for some experts in this field who are willing to review
these papers.
If you are interested in reviewing some paper. Please response to me VIA the
MITBBS email box with a short sef-introduction.

发帖数: 153 | 48 刚刚给所有参加2008年纽约麦地网聚的兄弟姐妹们发了一封信。有不少信被退了回来。
希望大家还常来麦地，看到这个帖子。3年前的我们，有人嫁出去了，有人在准备还在
准备嫁妆，有人在犹豫要不要嫁。那之后，跟很多人成了朋友，不管是坚持了下来的，
还是放手了的。3年多过去了，有人开始要做attending了，有人要做fellow了，有人还
在residency training或准备match的水深火热之中。在这里不想祝大家一切顺利，只
是祝愿大家不管什么困难，都能克服。另外，希望大家响应蝎子版主的号召，常来麦地
看看。
另外，给大家写信还有一个重要的事情汇报，就是2008年网聚我们剩下了$302.45，根
据大家survey的结果，留给以后的活动用。那次聚会直接促成了ACAP Student,
Resident, Fellow Committee的成立，之后SRF组织了不少的活动，这些钱就作为一些
活动经费。现在我ACAP SRF的Chair正式卸任了，高兴的跟大家汇报，钱都用光了。&#
61514; 不好意思，没给老撂留下点，不过相信他比我能干，会弄到活动经费的。下面
是具体花销：
