引用数目不同， 而且好像八月份出现的一个索引十月份都没有了。 那些消失的属于一
个local symposium. 有谁知道google是怎么创建这种引用的？ 是不是只要网上有一篇PDF, 而且这PDF引用过另外一篇文章， 过一段时间google就会自动把这个索引记
住？然后如果这个PDF被删除了，google又会删除这个引用？

复，都答应给写了，这是happy的方面。但下面这个有点纠结：
刚刚收到第三个推荐人的信，好像不怎么愿意，但好像也没完全拒绝死，对方的答复如
下，BTW,里面提到的 "Dr. JS from our group"是一个美国人，在我们group做了四年
postdoc，现在刚到他们那里去了research scientist。 请问这种情况下，我是坚持向
对方解释说只有独立才有用呢，还是move to Dr.JS 这个以前的labmate呢... 谢谢了！

newsletter。
我受到的那些会议倒还是比较正规的，至少是一些国际大的协会冠名的（如IEEE
Symposium on xxx 之类），就是档次和会议的committee其实都很水而已，但估计外行
也看不出什么门道来。
就如美女版主建议的，采取避重就轻，拿水会议来凑数，然后找认识的几个Journal的
Editor写推荐信证明Reivewer的挑选准则。
BtW：其实你列举的这个烂会也不是一眼就能看出很水，IO估计也没空上网search看这
个会议的评价吧！ |

15 conference presentations. 13 in US, 1 in Brazil, I in China
Edited 17 books, more than 8200 pages, 10 million words. Of course, they are

senior, staff等等的title）
4一作，0 n作，大概 50多citation； 一片一作被一个nsf center director写的
review里算作这个领域过去十年最notable的paper。也比较荣幸得到了他的推荐信。
媒体采访/报道有一些。实际上只有两个独立的。都是关于某paper。商学院拿这个做过
项目，后来看了看他们的报告，不乐观，就没用。
patent有3枚，都是provisional。有一个就是现在做的产品，刚刚release。投的钱就
算成我的科研经费了，比较可耻。中间稀里糊涂的在一个itar项目上非法做过半年，后
来补上了出口license。
做某烂symposium的session organizer一次。
审稿～30。遍布中美英德日荷。审稿还挺有意思的，发现有些大牛组里的工作也不过尔
尔。
推荐信5封。一封前老板，一封公司cto，三封独立。其中包括一个哥们，一个行业大牛

开始关心绿卡的事情是在生完宝宝后的产假期间，但是之后忙着改文章发文章换工作杂
七杂八就耽搁了一年多，直到去年年底，开始正式累计审稿，到版上来看贴学习，收藏
各种模版，还曾经用伪币买过crazydog的package :-)。今年三月底开始搜集推荐人人
选，四月上旬四处发信问询并最终确定人选，五个推荐人，包括两个全独立推荐人(一
美国院士老先生，一欧洲), 一个同单位的独立推荐人，现任老板和博士老板。五月开
始写推荐信草稿，到六月中旬基本完工，但没有发给推荐人，接着开始着手petition
letter。七月完成authorship 部分，同时相应的修改推荐信。八月中旬，petition
letter 基本完成，推荐信draft发给推荐人，四封一周内收回，另外那封院士老先生的
，要求重新写，说有太多吹捧之词，于是删除所有赞美之辞，改用平实的叙述性语言，
加强事实部分，老先生对这一版很满意，很快就sign并寄出。八月最后一周，集中整理

DIY）。我的case属于特别弱的，但是再等下去要发疯了，希望2-3个月内能交上去，赌
一把吧。
整体情况是美国50名左右Ph.D.,top school的postdoc。老板是top school的full
professor，头衔一大堆。我的NIW在2010年已批。
1.文章特别少。Peer-review的一共只有6-7篇（全英文），其中一作只有2篇，剩下的
都是N作。优势是除了本科和博士生早期发的2篇，剩下的（包括两篇1作）都是领域内
Top文章，影响因子都在10-15之间。这些文章分布在3个领域。
2.Top publishing company要出版一本大百科全书，邀请老板写几个小的chapter。这
几个chapter是我跟老板co-author的。律师evaluate的时候说这个非常impressive，但
是不知道怎么吹最好，因为这个东西虽然写完了也提交了，但是这大百科全书最终还没
出版（工程浩大）。出版社正在他们的网站上更新这个大百科全书的topic，我一共写

基本情况： 美国top20-30 CS博士毕业，目前薄厚结束，准备去M/F/G中其中一家做
research software development engineer (类似的title， 其实就是个码工）
paper： 一共25篇（24 会议， 1杂志），会议包括各种烂workshop，由于CS基本只发
会议，所以杂志少得可怜 ;(((
citation: 今天看了下google scholar大概250左右，他引应该超过150
review： 3个烂会的PC（实在是烂会，虽然也是IEEE的会，一共review了10个paper）
，其他大概5-10篇paper review （都是熟人给我的，木正规的有email，但会议的
proceeding里面有我作为reviewer名字）， 1个journal review
award： 3个会议的论文小奖，虽然是最好的国际会议，但是一些 demo track 和
doctoral symposium的best paper。实在觉得和板上大牛差远了。

我找了好几篇paper 大量谈我的work, 不过公司的律师说不用用

小硕，在medical school和cancer center做程序员, lead整个cancer center的IT开发
和医学院的research IT部分，雇主在打EB2的广告，干了四年了，想到时候拿到140就
跳回工业界。
因为说实话就是个编程的嘛除了走EB23也就没想着有其他路子，所以一直就没想着攒什
么学术背景。
1. 目前只有1个paper还是刚发的，借着在癌症中心工作的关系弄得，在一个6分的
journal
上，该领域top 1 out of 116；因为是special contribution在网上刚publish就有多
个研究机构表示要引用，除了没非洲的其他洲都齐了，希望能短时间内攒点引用；
里边展示的软件是我自己开发的，虽然我不太满意，但被此PI（是这个美国专门委员会
的成员）拿出去忽悠了好几年了，用来忽悠R01，此间主要是美国和欧洲（主要是德国
