面试的职位是工程师，医疗器械领域；但是看Job description，里面不少是
supervision的职责，大概有点team leader的意思，还要和其他部门的技术人员协调等
职责。从来没在Industry工作过，PhD毕业就干了两年薄厚，混了张绿卡；supervision
也就是在实验室里带点本科生的经验。
有点赶鸭子上架的感觉啊。要问起来：“你打算怎么带队伍？”怎么回答比较好？不能
说：“人心散了、队伍不好带了吧”？ |

statistical modeling的背景，Shell和Perl/Python coding，至少精通一门
programming language吧。SQL比较熟，较好的data manipulation和data integration
的经验。了解big data和distributed computing。
公司可能不愿意等太久，所以希望能尽快入职。H1-B没问题。目前投简历的绝大部分都
是阿三，希望能多几个中国人。公司环境不错，绝大部份人都比较nice，待遇也还行（
当然不能和湾区大公司比）。

算法可以用来做prediction. 数据挖掘和机器学习以及统计等多个学科关系紧密。
看数据类型以及具体问题的context，通常有supervised learning(SL), unsupervised
learning (USL). SL 是基于有些已经分好类的数据建立一个模型，然后对未知数据进
行分类，也就是prediction， 有很多算法了，比如naive bayes, logistic
regression(名字是regression， 但是是supervised分类）Bayesian networks,
random forests （stochastic gradient descent random forest), knn, decision
tree, ....(太多了）;USL的训练数据没有提前分好类，需要通过一些模型来把数据分
到不同的group中。很多算法比如k-means clustering之类的。

刚才给continental打电话，竟然告诉我说如果想要预定第一排的位置得另外charge我
的费用，也就是说每一个flight，每一个人得charge我49美元，我和我宝宝一人一个位
置，那么从我们所在城市到newark，我们得交98美元，从newark到北京我们还得交98美
元。
我就跟他们argue说，订票的时候你们航空公司完全没有提预定要收费的事，只是告诉
我说提前24小时才能和他们预定，然后那人说，我上飞机后和空乘说，如果空乘认为我
的确需要第一排的位置，他们会再把钱退给我。
然后我赶紧给我的代理打电话，代理说是他们航空公司改了，以前预定是不收费的，然
后说可以帮我问问他们的superviser，让superviser给我打电话，现在电话还没有打过
来。
而且好笑的是，上次打电话问航空公司会不会给婴儿准备他们吃的食品，他们一口回绝
说不会准备，让我自己带，这次竟然说会准备婴儿的食品和奶粉。
航空公司变得可真快呀，我真是怀疑是不是我隔天再打电话过去，再换一个人接，说的
话又会变。

端正、白净又不失男人气。他们很热心，问了我的情况，并告诉我，他们原本是昨天去北
京的，也是一样因前一班的误点所以赶不上了，但是最后争取到了free accommodation.
在他们的建议下，我返回服务台并要求见superviser, 是个female 的中年ABC，化着
让我想吐却吐不出来的浓妆（吐不出来是因为没吃早点，昨天晚饭也吃得很少，室友只留
了一口饭在锅里寥表离别之情义，并暗示我洗锅），让我想起以前在山东的国道上，道两
侧健壮的山东大妹子浓妆艳抹并打着纹花纸伞，大吼：来吃饭啊，我们店里有米饭的。Su

一家是FCS Fremont Christian Preschool，因为去的那天有活动，
没能看到老师跟孩子互动的情况，环境还不错，木地板（儿子对地毯过敏），
有白人，印度人跟亚洲人。
三家蒙校，对这个研究不深，就是好多教具，不同年纪孩子可以混完，
一家是老墨开的，从老师到小孩都是老墨。没进去看，要我们等superviser。
另外两家是印度人开的，一家全是印度孩子，老师有两个亚洲人。
这两个半天收费都是700／month。
还有一家的superviser是白人，室外活动场地很大，但是老师年龄偏大，
感觉木木等等的，只有一个年青老师活泼点。孩子大多是印度人，几个
白人，一个亚洲人。半天收费是800／month。
对蒙校了解不多，感觉没有想像中的好，这几家都在一月份可以招新生，

一，CC 的推手们向各州推动 CC的过程不公开不透明，各州是被 stimulus money 和
No Child Left Behind 的 waiver 所贿赂上船的。CC自我推销的语言多是空话，甚至
谎言。
CC说是 state led. 事实：它从来不是。
二，CC 从来没有在任何一个学校试验过。他们自己称有大量研究支持这个标准，但却
拿不出一个研究的 citation。我在 CC的官网没找到，如果那位找到了，请分享！
既然没有任何试点，没人知道 CC 是否真的能改进中小学教育。反正 Bill Gates 的孩
子们上的是学费超过 $20,000的私校（也是他的母校），一般公立学校的孩子作荷兰猪

Students may be asked to submit a 15-page typed research paper, an original
short story, or a handwritten essay on the historical figure they would most
like to meet. There are interviews. Exams. And pages of questions for
parents to answer, including: How do you intend to help this school if we
admit your son or daughter?
These aren't college applications. They're applications for seats at charter

我觉得另外就是收集证据告这家幼儿园，要求赔偿。这个是人为疏忽导致的事故，赔偿
是跑不了的。
