随口说六百，并不是真心想买。结果售货的人说，我想SUPERVISER申请下，然后打电话
BLAH。。。BLAH，结果打完电话回头跟某太太说，我们SUPERVISE同意了。然后某太太
，皮很薄，不太好意思，只好买了六百刀的吸尘器。销售员科普的时候说，人体的什么
头皮屑也能从沙发和床上吸出来。某太太说超级好用。然后某太太跨州搬过几次家，别
的都YARD SALE了，唯有这个一直带着走。

发帖数: 245 | 4 孩子被人在学校扎入一截订书钉到手指骨里造成骨感染并骨损失,整个过程老师在场并
且孩子是哭着举着手指头让老师看当时有半截订书钉还在指甲外面，结果老师把外面那
截擦掉就完事了（这是后来office的人说漏嘴告诉的），事后没有给家长任何口头或书
面的accident report. 当时家长不知情，只带孩子去急诊简单处理外伤，后来去问老
师，她用几秒钟时间亲描淡写的说是被同学用stapler不小心poke了一下没什么大问题
。结果很长时间后家长才发现带去照X光，订书钉在骨头里时间太长已经骨感染。
这不是第一次accident了，小班时摔掉颗门牙（当时是缺了一小块，但是dental
trauma造成infection只有做extraction)老师也是没report只是告诉家长孩子cried
the whole morning for unknown reason.
以前还被扎孩子手的同一个孩子拿块rock smash过划破口子，就在上星期还被她推到水
泥地上，结果脸上，耳朵，手腕，膝盖大面积划伤出血。
家长约学校领导面谈，提出要求：

带孩子找了附近的好几家，
一家是FCS Fremont Christian Preschool，因为去的那天有活动，
没能看到老师跟孩子互动的情况，环境还不错，木地板（儿子对地毯过敏），
有白人，印度人跟亚洲人。
三家蒙校，对这个研究不深，就是好多教具，不同年纪孩子可以混完，
一家是老墨开的，从老师到小孩都是老墨。没进去看，要我们等superviser。
另外两家是印度人开的，一家全是印度孩子，老师有两个亚洲人。
这两个半天收费都是700／month。
还有一家的superviser是白人，室外活动场地很大，但是老师年龄偏大，
感觉木木等等的，只有一个年青老师活泼点。孩子大多是印度人，几个
白人，一个亚洲人。半天收费是800／month。
对蒙校了解不多，感觉没有想像中的好，这几家都在一月份可以招新生，

attendant才可以加班时间同酬。而personal attendant需要保证她照顾孩子的时间超

这事得从去年12月说起，那是候At&t的6M的网正搞促销，20刀一个月。
当时用的其他公司的，叫suddenlink.
当时觉得20挺便宜的，就把原来的网停了，装了At&t。
装的时客服信誓旦旦的说这个是没有合同的，随时都可以停止。
顺便，我是打电话给At&t叫他们上门来安装的，没有签任何的书面合同。
中间用的还凑合，就是他们第一个月的要93刀，然后慢慢当做credit返回。当时想了想
，认了，交吧。
因为是学生，没SSN，他们说得把我的debit的账户绑定，自动扣费，我想了想，也就认
了。
从6,7月放暑假，和室友到外地亲戚家住了两月。临走前想给At&t打个电话把网暂时停
两个月，他们说不行，我是一个一年的合同，不能从中途停止。
我想想，反正和室友分摊，也就算了吧。
今年8月份回家的时候，网不能正常使用。赶紧打At&t得客服，让他们修。
中途，突然想起了At&t当初办的账户还有个邮箱，yahoo的。
登上去看了看，有封从6月左右发来的邮件，说At&t开始限制网的使用量。每月只能用
150GB。

to day care?

美国食品暨药物管理局(FDA)前华裔化学家梁诚一(Cheng Yi Liang，音译)，因屡次利用与职务有关的非公开资料从事内线交易，5日获判五年徒刑。他从内线交易获得的380万元非法利益也被下令没收。
助理司法部长布鲁尔(Lanny Breuer)说：「梁诚一利用在FDA担任化学家接触的敏感内线资料，从制药业股票市场获得不法利益。他多年来利用在FDA的职务在股市轻易赚钱，可是今天的判刑显示这种做法的后果。」
卫生福利部督察长办公室特别探员马隆(Elton Malone)说：「梁某利用敏感的内线资料大胆谋利。他不知道调查人员早就利用先进科技工具发掘和追踪犯罪行为。我们将继续坚持联邦员工遵守最高标准。」
58岁的梁诚一去年10月18日承认触犯一款证券诈欺罪和一款提供不实证词的罪名，5日由马里兰地区联邦法官判刑。
根据法庭文件，梁诚一在1996年获聘为FDA新药品质评估处化学家，他的工作使他能够接触FDA用密码保护的新药申请程序内部追踪系统，其中有许多关于提出实验性药物请FDA审查的制药公司不公开的资料。

真没听过 postgrad CV / ML 抱怨算法不及科班的 CS 。
The only possibility this could happen is if someone only learn MATLAB,
Python and not any other languages.
论面试中的算法，无非就是刷题。从 CC150, EPI 选一部分认真做做就过关了。
从学院转到工业界的最大冲击，是不能再『use the best tool for the task』，因为
各种可以在学术界使用的软件、语言、类库、专利算法都因为各种商业原因（就是
licensing cost / patent issue）不能使用，以致要从头开始写一遍。
CV 和 ML 都是现在招人的热门技能；只要找工作时撒网够深，不是马虎只投两三间公
司，应该是可以找到对口而待遇不错的工作。
尽量把研究方向推到使用数据量较大的范畴（就是能够收集大量原始输入数据、或者已
经有对学术界开源的研究数据资料库）。

数据江湖，风起云涌。各路英豪，群雄逐鹿。
这是一个数据科学最好的时代，也是数据江湖最乱的时代。
那么在这么一个特殊的江湖里面浪，有什么兵器是值得我们去关注的呢？这篇文章列举
了一些常用方法（刀剑），并不涵盖工具与平台。就先让我们一起去看看这个排名不分
先后左右的兵器谱。
数据科学家Vincent Granville博士发表博文列举了数据科学家常用的45种技术。这是
个很适合初学者去逐个了解的列表。当然，这并不代表数据科学（统计学）的全部。虽
然他并没有提出自己的详细总结，但是有志于学习数据科学的同学不妨初步有个印象，
有不太熟悉的topic可以进一步去了解一下。另外我在后面也补充了我认为也值得学习
