Superior 湖里的 pink salmon 其实来自一个美丽的错误。1959年，有人dump了2万条
小pink，从此到处都能看到它们了。
隔年的9月，pink要上溯到溪里产卵。也就是说，每两年才有一个月的时间河钓pink。
一进入河，pink的胃就开始分解，空出地方给卵。公鱼会长出大驼背来便利在激流中掌
舵。产完卵pink就挂了，所以河里的pink是很不好吃的。trout（鳟鱼）是不是进化的
salmon 所以可以不用这么悲壮？
到了Devil Track，已经有对母子在，从双城来，和母亲还是广义的同行。这儿子大概
14，用的bait，在fly fishing。因为前两天的大雨，河水十分的浑浊，根本看不到鱼
，我甩了几杆jig就走了。
往北开，湖中有块大石，叫 Five Mile Rock。5迈不是离岸，而是离 Grand Marais。
可以想象，当人步行至此，就知道离大镇不远了。这大概是milestone的本意吧。到了

如果你见过明州的车牌，你应该知道明州的slogan是万湖之州。实际上据说有13,000个
湖星罗棋布在整个州内。
同南方的同事聊起来，我觉得最不可思议的就是他们也会抱怨冬天的冷，而同事也会觉
得怎么有人愿意住在那么严寒的地带。
说起来明州的冬天确实是冷，冰天雪地，漫漫严冬。印象中一般10月底开始就是一片白
茫茫的，到次年4月底才会有春天的迹象。而且冷的时候真的是冷。记忆中最深刻的一
次，大约气温是华氏零下30多度，windchill则是零下47度。下了班去Costco逛街，停
车的地方离大门大约也只有20米，可是冰冷的空气好像能把整个呼吸道都凝结，只能屏
住呼吸，一路小跑冲了进去。
虽然如此，我依然很怀念在明州的日子。
明州很美，记得双城马拉松的小册子上的宣传口号是The most beautiful urban
marathon in the United States，我很愿意相信这个说法。从Minneapolis的downtown

why would they switch? Films are inefficient, and hurts their margin and

我见到了真人胡锦涛，不知道诸位同学又何如。第一站在机场，如果我没有孤陋寡闻，
没有任何安排学生接机的活动，我们也无从得知到底是在哪个机场。因为在华盛顿的时
候是在空军基地，无从得知是否还会从一个不知名空军基地降落。这也表明，此次芝加
