Right, the spellcheck module can be called by other programs only when it's
an ocx file, which can then register itself for spell-checking function. If
you try to install Visio, it will ask you whether or not to install its own
spell-check module, which supplements the Microsoft Office spellcheck
module... in any case, UltraEdit's spell-check is probably done internally.

见都是spell it out, find it out, check it out, etc 里面的it,好像已经成了固
定用法,说起来很顺嘴,不一定是指代前面的名词,当然也无所谓单复数了;
另外,虽然to document every aspect of your work 比to document every point of
your work常用,但是具体到医学领域,很强调point的概念,譬如说 key point,
learning point, directly go to the point, did you get my point?等等。我个人
认为,按照Knockingdown 前辈“抓主要矛盾”的原则,在听写时候,点点(every
point)俱到比面面(every aspect)俱到重要得多,所以还是用every point更胜过 |

我是挺佩服那个孩子的妈妈的,因为home school,完全都是她操办出来的。
我可没那么奉献,也没那个条件,还得养家糊口呢。
人家spelling bee,都买那套大字典,好几百美元,还买专门的软件。我儿子当年就用
一个website,可以申请free access的,我儿子就写说:我是单亲,我妈已经够辛苦了
,我不能再让她为我出这个钱...练习spelling bee,他是用的他妹妹帮忙。结果妹妹
的spelling也大涨。
这个奥数,我只给他买了那套art of problem solving。准备USAMO时,他的一个同学
给他email了很多考古题,我的贡献是帮他打印出来。

Sword是儿子从学校的免费书堆里淘回来的,书页枯黄如古籍状。书于1950年出版–那
时甘地被刺刚刚两年–次年获得美国少年图书最高奖的「银牌」Newbury Honor。作者
是美国颇有名气的儿童读物作家Jeanette Eaton。看来这书在美国读者不少–儿子拿到

几年前看过得奥斯卡奖的电影《甘地》。那时很受震撼,连看两遍。后来跟一个从印度

我实在不能理解这里有些人的想法,首先一定要找出自己人身上的错误,然后拿着放大
镜放大再放大。我唯一做的不太符合标准的就是在经济舱广播说行李满架的情况下,大
家都在过道里堵着走不过去的情况下,先把行李放在必经的商务舱的行李架上然后再去
找乘务员商量,因为在狭窄的飞机过道里面,很难一手拉着小孩一手拉箱子。
难道这些说我的人都希望被白人如此对待吗?还是说他们希望自己的老婆孩子被白人如
此对待?
为什么他们对那个乘务长的的态度视而不见,反而说她说没有空座是委婉的说法,而我
说的确有空座就算是让别人没面子?
我来美国也有很多年了,来来回回坐飞机也很多次了,这样明目张胆的歧视还正是第一
