出一些生活中并不存在的东西，或没发生的事情。
比如我们一家三口坐在车上，他指着旁边的空座位说：“这是我的sister的spot。”
我以为他说的是daycare的某个同学：“哦，你有sister啊，妈妈不认识她呢。”
他说：“我认识她。”
“那她叫什么名字？”
小娃一脸严肃地：“她的名字叫XX”（中文名字，不是任何一个认识小朋友的名字。）
类似此举还有几次，并且这个sister已经“存在”有一段时间了。每次听到这样的话都
让我的他爹不禁唏嘘，一脸愕然。

最近查了一些Nature sister journals的editor的简历（研究经历、发表文章记录等）
，发现这些Editors做科研方面其实都不是很牛（比如从phd开始到博士后结束，一般为
6-10年时间，也就发表10篇论文左右，而且不一定有CNS）。这些人有的具有较diverse
的研究领域，有的也就研究过1-2个不同体系而已。
而当我们投稿Nature sister journals的时候，很多文章基本就被editor直接拒了，包
括editor不怎么懂的领域。
那这就出现问题了，这些二三流的杂志Editor如何判断一流科学家的稿件质量，尤其对
自己不太熟知的领域（如这篇稿件相对于已有文章的创新）？（PS：我不算一流，但他
们肯定据过不少一流科学家的稿件）？ 不知道他们依靠的标准是什么？
换句话说，这些editor是否绑架了科学？
一个有意思的现象是，nature sister journals （如Nature Communications）最近新
招的editor，很多都是英国教育背景的。 |

This does not sound to be a good idea, as your sister's staying in China can
be a reason your parents will go back China. If your sister also comes
together, they may question whether your parents (together with your sister)
will return China.
Perhaps useless as I think that visa application also requires the old
passport info.
4. Also, find out the reasons why their visas were rejected before, and
prepare accordingly. The more they prepare, the more confident they feel. |

根据红豆版的攻略，她们从bend出发，走20号公路，开向sisters看，3 sisters 雪山
，不过这样走会绕路。不过我们还是严格follow了， 不过最后证明，直接走97号公路
也是可以看到3 sister雪山的，只不过雪山似乎会远一点，但97号上的view point很漂
亮。 不过20号公路给我们带来了令一个惊喜，我们看到了一群鹿，看来此行很有人品
呀，每天都能见到鹿，而且最后一天竟然见到了鹿群。
我们一路沿97到26进入了Mt hood景区， 沿途风光也是非常的不错，不过车上的美女们
都急着去outlet shopping, 我们沿途就没有下来。
当我们来到Moltnomah Falls的时候，感觉回到了国内的旅游点，人暴多，而且大部分
都是老中：）
告别了瀑布，我们稍微走错了一点路，不过老天又给了我们一个bonus, 彩色的云彩。
后来终于来到了vista house. 这个房子太赞了， 不愧为哥伦比河谷上第一观景台。
看了瀑布和河谷美景，我们来到了portland第一大华人酒家，黄上皇海鲜酒楼吃早茶。

lava butte可以开车上去到火山口，看远处的火山群
还有两个lakes，火山熔岩的隧道看你的兴趣了

In 1855 John Hunt left his family's home in Kilkelly Ireland and came to the
United States. When he left Ireland, John Hunt was 13 years old. He
settled in Maryland, found a job, got married and had children. He never
returmed to Ireland and never saw his family again.
Without cell phones and the internet, communication was with the annual

书作者，就像这里被评价的有点夸张。
不过一战、二战之间的奥匈帝国／奥地利確是很有趣。
顺便再隆重推荐一下，我成年以后唯一记得有印象的长篇小说，奥地利作者robert
musil 的《the man without quantities》（中译：没有个性的人）。
ps，维特根斯坦弟弟paul wittengenstein的故事里，我偶像Prokofiev还友情出演了。

为什么没有我偶像maurice ravel呢？呃，以前就听说paul介个左手刚擎家，当时还想
ludwig witetngenstein他弟很牛阿，看prokofiev的评价，凡事都抗不住有钱。。。

前面说到古埃及的horus和那只眼睛。话说古罗马也有一个一只眼睛的horatius的故事
。拉丁语horatius翻译成英语就是horace。
话说有一年etruscan人从北边进攻罗马，想要从tiber河上面的Pons Sublicius桥过河
。如果etruscan人过河，他们就进入罗马城了。
在Pons Sublicius有7个罗马兵，其中一个是只有一只眼的horatius cocles。horatius
cocles在桥上大战etruscan兵，剩下的几个罗马兵就拆桥。horatius cocles成功地堵
住了etruscan人，一直坚持到桥被拆毁了。horatius cocles跳入河中，游到对岸，罗
马暂时保住了。后来发生的事情罗马的历史里面没有详细的记录。（一般记录不详细的
时候都是战败投降之类的事情。）
话说horatius cocles是名将之后，他家祖上还要从hermione说起。
