South Sister的峰顶是一个火山口，直径大概是400米。火山口中间基本都覆盖着雪。
我们到了火山口的边缘时已经是7点，路上一共花了6.5个小时。天空虽然晴朗，但是风
还在慢慢变大。火山口一圈有几处稍微平坦的地方可以扎营，前人已经在这些平地的周
围磊好了石头用来挡风。我们找了一块能够容纳两个帐篷并且离雪地近的营地。因为风
的缘故，我们花了半小时，借助石头们的帮助才搭好两个帐篷。化了雪水开始煮晚饭的
时候，太阳已经偏西。向东看去，巨大的山的影子打在了下面的平原上，甚为壮观。太
阳慢慢西沉，暮云四合，放眼望去，群山巍峨，笼罩在玫瑰色的晚霞中。日落时分，光
线变幻莫测，美轮美奂。太阳落下去以后的天空更加炫丽如火。

发帖数: 16403 | 4 上周终于把传说中的这两座很popular的雪山给hike了。
提前一周问south sister的ranger station， 说雪太大路没开不建议去， 提前一天再
问说有thunderstorm， 基本就打算放弃了， 但是开车经过了bend， 不死心就跑到另
一个ranger station里当面问， 结果告知是第二天早上12点前有20%的几率
thunderstorm， 但是只要有crampon/ice axe, 速度又足够12点前下山的话应该可以爬
。 于是就当即决定开往devils lake 的trailhead
到达的时候是周五下午3点半左右---- 那里的蚊子实在凶悍， 短短十分钟身上头上就
咬出几十个包--- 正打算收拾收拾开始camping， 发现孤零零的停车场来了个女生，
抗着包准备往上走， 一问， 原来她打算去Moraine Lake 再扎营， 过不了一会， 有
个男的也扛着滑雪板也下来了， 他也是昨天在Moraine Lake扎营。
我想了想， 按自己的体力， 如果4点开始爬， 12点下树线好像很困难， 毕竟前几天

helens更容易， 但是乱石头走的辛苦， 回想起来都没兴趣再去了
south sister没有冰裂缝，是雪地
最后山脊trail旁边的雪地上有很窄小的裂缝， 坐滑应该不安全但是走起来无碍 |

原来是sister wendy(修女 wendy beckett)和英国BBC制作的一套讲西方绘画历史的DVD.
一共4张DVD,前2张是在BBC播出的30分钟一集的电视系列共20集，从法国原始时期的岩洞
壁画一
直简述到现代流派，居然一点都不枯燥，好看的紧！后2张稍微有点差劲。
欧是工科出身不懂艺术的门外汉，虽然也在芝加哥的art institute里面瞎逛过；大家还

一大感受就是没有足够的历史背景，是谈不上什么欣赏美术的；比如看这幅1434年 Jan

其实人家根本不是怀孕，这是当时有钱人的一种穿着fashion；背景里有床，也并不一定
是卧室；当时床也是属于显阔的手段之一，有钱人恨不得每个房间都摆上一个；这应该是
刚结婚的一对夫妇，有点像现在的婚纱照之类的东西。（不穿鞋，只穿袜子站着，也是有

sister to come with them. Not sure how hard for her to get B2 visa in China.
If anyone has similar experiences, please let me know how to prepare visa
application materials for her. When apply visa, it is good for her to apply
visa with my parents together or by her own.

weeks after the stroke, and the sister's mother-in-law can drink water now.

strictness is no good. Although I'm not sure if the death of her sister
could be directly attributed to her mom's Chinese parenting style.
Personally, I think it perhaps rooted more in the general Chinese tradition,
beyond the parenting scope, if Chinese tradition were to be blamed. Anyway,
this raised the issue again - raising Chinese kids in American environment,

万千。这个妈妈为了救得了白血病的老大，听了大夫的建议，又生了老三能donate血液
骨髓肾脏给老大治疗维持生命，对老三来说真的很不公平，来到这个世界上就为了姐姐
挨针头，自己也没有choice,完全是爹妈说了算。
如果是你，为了救一个孩子，就牺牲另一个孩子的健康和利益，你会么？
我第一想法是，i wouldn't even consider to have another kid for this purpose.
