attack, he is about 2140, i feel he is someway stronger than Zheda's #1,
maybe chopper does not show his level in doubles:-) |

i like to play a shakehand who came from Jilin, now try to practise
with him every other day! |

Z*******n 发帖数: 694 | 8 Shakehand is what I play too.
I am interested in your equipment #9 (Double Happiness 655), but I'd like to
know the technical parameters -- unfortunately you have not taken a photo
of that little red tag that comes with the paddle (which says the weight,
thickness, etc). Can you upload a photo of that red tag and add to your
current photos?
I'm also interested in your other equipment numbers -- hmmm, too many
choices, not enough money! |

c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 9 as long as i see one, i always try to play to their smooth side, did not
work well,
it seems their backhands are better, they use the medium pips even when the
ball is
in the middle to forehand side.
any strategy or tips to against them?
at Baltimore, against one, i won the first game like 11:6, i thought i would
pull
a upset against a guy over 2100 from east coast, but he came back to beat me
3:1
easily, two of the 3 games were like 11:4, 11:5.
Natalie plays like this style, she has better chan |

我觉得生胶跟长胶还是有区别的,球要下沉一些,所以回生胶一面的球,如果是防守回
球的话,要比平时的球稍微高一些

c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 11 basically medium pip returned ball is very fast and it is VERY
hard to control the quality of its return, u return either under
the net or too high, yesterday i lost a guy 0:3 easily who is just
1900, basically i was playing most of the time, hardly had chance
to attack.
I hope to have more chances to play against this styles, not
many 2000 level guys play this style though. |
|

5654 | 13 are u talking about Wade Sun? wow, he is a great player, over 2200
before, he could beat a lot of 2200 shakehands, yes, his style
is not that traditional, but his talent is so high, i never see
a penhold could loop that well on his backhand side, also he could
counterloop so well from far away off the table.
he is a very nice person too, he warmed me up all the time at USOpen
of 2004 at Chicago which was the tournament i broke 1900 at the very
first time.
Unfortunately, he moved to Virginia due |

c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 15 in 2004 US open, i think Liu Jia was the prettiest, such a little girl but
could
play/move that fast.
Also, Vince Tai and myself watched Kim Taek Soo warmed his members up, Vince
was
saying how many ppl Kim Taek Soo could still beat...
He was one of my 2 favorite penholders. Ma Lin was the other, i only have
one favorite
shakehand which is Waldner. |

d**p 发帖数: 510 | 16 normally, it is better for penholders to use hard bat plus soft
rubbers, whereas shakehanders use soft bat with hard rubbers.
i would recommend using hard bat for penholders, except your level
is below 1500, when maybe you feel it is too fast for u to control. |
|
d**p 发帖数: 510 | 17 i would suggest you try butterfly blades, Gao Jun uses
Mitsushita's, David Zhuang uses IOLite, both are shakehand
baldes, but they cut the heads.
Jiaqi Zheng used to use Taksim. |

c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 22 just chatted with Liu Song, he is from Guangxi, he played penholder
a little bit when he was very young, then his coach asked him to
change to shakehand, but he could not learn how to loop well for
his backhand, so he changed to LPs.
He told me you can play well for every type of rubbers, as long as
u work hard.
But 2 side smooth rubbers are easiest to improve.
I believe professional player world is more boring since there are
not much variations, but in our amateur world, it is more fun to
play... 阅读全帖 |

j******w 发帖数: 4429 | 23 I think it is for wrist practice.
Actually, only Ma Lin ( maybe 90 and 80's chinese players) has a good
control skill,
Wang hao and shakehand player just step back after return the ball,
this is for "xiangchi" because it is really hard to beat to death when
opponent is in the middle
/far area. |

c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 24 i never have had coaches before either.

climbing mountain is one of the good ways to improve, i consider
someone who can climb to mission peak within 75 min.s about 1800

would make it 2200+.

which school does Stven Li go?
boeing's serves are so-so, it is very rare to see a shakehand have a

even junkewind's serves are not his weapon at all, just use them to
set up his attack. |

do u add side spin when you return a short underspin serve?
i saw some great penholders like Li, Jiao, has no problem for her

what is a good combination of rubber/racket for good blocks? |

Chen was Helongjiang province team player, she moved to LA many
years ago, switched from penhold to shakehand, with short pips.
Amy got to usa by marrying a Chinese WSN at Oregon, she used to
dominate US women's singles until Gao came. |

c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 37 There has been and will be a huge competition between ICC and Topspin
since they are just way too close by.
i would like to see a HUGE TT club combining the above 2 clubs
with 50 tables, 200 kids as USATT national training center, at
least 2 2800 level coaches, prefer one shakehand, one penholder.
Then, it will be top 3 best in the world! |

c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 38 it depends on ur style, i would prefer to play against 2500 penholder

2500 shakehand. |

l********h 发帖数: 130 | 42 Selling for my friend. The BTY blade is a shakehand VSG21-4000. Include a
T25 red and a T64 black. The blade and rubbers are used (have some tears & wears) but it still plays well. Asking for $35 only local pickup in SF bay area (San Jose), or plus packing & postage (around $7 I guess, will charge exact cost incurred) for out-of-town buyer. The pice is less than 20% of the original prices of the blade and rubbers.
Serious inquiry only. First come first serve.

U*******1 发帖数: 1565 | 43 First, changing to shakehand is not easy due to many years of using
Penholder.
Second, footwork is not easy to improve as well. Otherwise, most of players
would have a good footwork. Especially for those who are not young.
Finally, for some of us as male (like me ) learning from female players (
like Zhao Yue, Jiaqi) may be easier than learning from male players (like
Xu Xin) since it is not possible have the speed and footwork like Xin XU. |

totally agree, feel like tennis for shakehand... |

c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 45 the reason i added LP on my backhand was not due to 步伐和体力.. it is just
one
process for me to really PLAY and enjoy the sports.
I found out i had no way to switch to shakehand or penhold RPB, so why leave
the backhand empty? at least i can return serves better using pips on
backhand. |
|
c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 46 ur body can't tell the difference between dumbbar or dumbbell...
u can even use ur own weights, or your child's weights...
for shakehand, u'd better to have strong shoulder to loop beside arms. |

c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 47 in my club, 60% penholders. |

c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 48
it works for a close-to-table attacker.. shakehands like to counter
loop more often... |
|
c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 49
not sure about shakehands, for me, it is clear: i only loop against
underpin initial attacking, others, either block or smash. |
|
c****1 发帖数: 5654 | 50 one of the interesting part of TT world is the different types of
rubbers, if everyone plays inverted, it becomes more like tennis...
LP was founded by Chinese, actually back to 70s, 80s, 90s, Chinese
national teams used a lot of pips players as secret weapons, eg
Liang Geliang, Huang Liang, Ge Xinai, Ding song etc..
Now, it is kind of boring to watch the Chinese female teams to play,
almost everyone is 2 wing shakehand looper! |
