本来master期间学的都是data science方向的，像machine learning，nlp啥的，对这
个也很感兴趣，也想着找个这个方向的工作，但是面试这两个公司的时候，都给我分到
了偏system的组，本人对system方向没啥背景，想问问了解这个领域的人。
yahoo的是platform这个大组下面的，具体的team 叫cloud messaging system，那个
manager跟我说这个组有4个人，2个老人，2个新人。目前主要任务就是提高
scalability，现在是200thousands/s, 今年打算弄到2millions/s. 还有就是打算
redesign这个system，原来是用java messaging service做的，打算重新搞。
microsoft的这个是在orange county的一个分部，做distributed data warehousing，

yahoo的项目听起来如果搞好了的话，impact会要比m的要高……不仅提高了
scalability还要redesign这个系统……而且组里人少，新人会承担更多的东西……感

最近在看startup school，原来对创业很反感的，机缘巧合几个星期以前从自己的
resume redesign衍生出一个idea，越想越觉得有钱赚就做起来了。期间发现了不少竞
争对手，但是startup school的视频里讲，非常非常少的startup是死于竞争。我想有
sqaurespace还有weebly，他们都可以共存。resume template这种网站虽然已经存在好
久了，大家其实还是再用doc，市场还没开发呢。我只想业余做做，赚赚外快，人工都
是我自己，不要成本，应该可以！ |

If there is no restriction, buy the whole thing and divide later. To sell
part of the package, if no limitation, will only need frontage (connection
to street) so that the other part can have easement.
If only worry about yard work, no one can control your backyard except
yourself. You can redesign the backyard so that it does not need work.
Acreage for a house can be as low as 0.1 in some areas. 0.1 acre is about

其实，对于realtor来说，existing house under contract到close这段
时间，工作量是非常低的，也就是和loan officer，title 公司coordinate一下。
但是买下New construction就非常忙碌了。只是内部装修meeting就要min 8-12hr
还不算negotiating和出了问题（弄错了颜色材料什么的）之后的交涉。
另外还有至少三四次walk through：dig、four-way and final walk through。
还不说中间buyer改主意了，要求redesign啥的。。。or walk through时候发现
问题，必须修改，改好了肯定要再来看过。好多新房的地点还特别偏僻。
而且建筑时间可能会很长，从UC到close半年都不止，realtor要等很久，付出很多才能
最后拿到报酬。所以很多builder会offer高一些的commission来吸引realtor
否则我们是不太喜欢buyer买new construction的。 |

House layout/location is something you can't change, but not interior design.
looking for something that perfectly matches your taste is pretty difficult,
so, just focus on the important part. The rest is just extra money and
effort.
Remember, all the furniture will be gone, you will have to redesign the
house anyways. |

教案， 如下:
（1）半个小时的discussion: why do we need to write? what does good writing
look like? what is preventing you to do so?
(2)半个小时的Exercise: write a paragraph on.....
准备引导的重点是：writing ABC
A: audience
B: just begin to write
C: clarity
我调整教案的原因是：我真的不知道为什么我的儿子写个东西这么难？！
基因论者说：写作好的人天生就会写。他写个东西这么难， 说明他就没有这个基因。
你教也没用。努力论者说：多练自然就会写了。他写个东西这么难，就说明他还是练得
少。你教他是教不来的。

BRCM is too new to do it. I don't think BRCM has the time to redesign ARM

不是很长。
我老硬着头皮像个神经病一样试用了一会儿Siri。识别率只有70%，估计是店里太吵了
。比方说我调戏Siri，问“How old are you”。Siri总是听成“Call XXX”。我老口
音再烂，How和Call还是能说清的。等入手iPhone 4S以后再试试。
Turn on/off Wifi/Bluetooth之类的命令，Siri还做不了。这的确是Apple忽略了，应
该是很简单的，估计是beta的原因。希望正式版能加上。
其他没觉得和iPhone 4有什么大的区别，也没觉得有多快。不过我不玩游戏，也许游戏
快了。总之不是很看好。iPhone 4 owners upgrade的意义不大。对Android owners吸
引力恐怕也不大。
旁边有一个wsn，LD一边玩iPhone 4S，他一边说Apple/iPhone有多么不好。。。
有analyst做了survey，说有百分之七十多的buyers是existing iphone users，和
