，看了别人写的书。当时书里的话是说，如果你要搞个新花样，不要上来就搞。先把为
何要搞这个的rationale讲清楚。比如新老师常见的场景是：下面，大家做这个，你们
一组，你们一组，干这个干那个。最后就看见老师一个人忙活，大家都一头雾水的样子
。甚至有人会在心里说，“你玩我？”学生虽然是来听课，要听从老师吩咐，但是当他
们明白了为何要这么做，这么做对他们“自己”有何好处以后，他们才会积极地干。这
个好处当然可以是分数，但最好是分数以外的东西。
我虽然是一早知道这个道理，但也是教到第三年才能贯彻落实。并且我发现，这个
rationale不限于新花样，基本上是处处都需要讲。举例来说，今天第一节课，我跟学
生说，我们用的这个课本很旧，很classic。现在有新的，我为何不用呢？因为新的没
有这么全的，总是偏向某一方面。我希望你们以这个旧书为guide，把各个领域的基础
都涉及到。完了你们会发现，基础有了，再接触新科技其实很容易。你这么一讲，学生
就会觉得，这个老师思考过，打算过，她做事有理有据。

也见过有些老师就是喜欢搞花样，不管什么效果。他们的justification是学生的
attention span是很短的，过一阵儿就要折腾他们才能不睡觉。

rationale是任何人，哪怕是trespasser，都不应该被别人的某些行为受到身体上的伤
害。第二: it is never justified to use deadly force to protect property.
这种rationale基于两个案子，第一个叫Briney。事情是这样的，有个老兄有个废弃的
farmhouse，他自己不住那里（所以有人入室抢劫他的人身不受威胁）。他经常发现有
人闯进门，然后小偷小摸的。这人立牌子说no trespass，没用。这老兄就弄了只
shotgun，弄根线，一头拴扳机，一头拴门把手，枪口对着门，所以只要有人开门，一
枪就撂倒。估计这哥们是气疯了。
有天晚上有个不知死的小偷同志，伙同别人来偷东西，结果一拧门把手，一枪打在腿上
，哥俩一瘸一枴上马路拦警车去医院。小偷进监狱按下不表，后来小偷同志告屋主:你
得赔我腿。
判决是屋主有责任，最后的结果似乎是小偷同志进监狱，然后屋主用那间被闯入的房子
抵债，ironic, eh?

发给谁。budget的rationale也是pi自己写，follow NIH guide line 应该是最好的
rationale了吧，为什么还要按照最低工资来呢？
project需要三个post doc就写三个post doc，只写两个post doc，后来再雇三个人加

（又被点名了）我也没出过专业书，只能瞎猜了。
如果sample chapters要半年以内提交，那你说的几个提高英语写作的渠道没有这么快
啦（当然长久来说还是要做）。不过还是有办法circumvent这个问题。
首先，不要把“吸引人”当做目标，这样你就很难下笔了。应该把clarity当成首要目
标。要讲明白，有多种方式，
1，想像你在和一个人对话。比如介绍牛顿第一定律，不要上来就说： An object at
rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same
speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. 我
们永远不会这么和人说话。应该这样说：我现在要讲的东西，是关于什么的。在这个定
律出现之前呢，人们的认识是怎样错误的。这个定律和传统的不一样，怎么个不一样法
来。。。
2， 多举例子（越简单常见的越好）。多做类比（写书和生孩子一样的地方在于。。。

记得曾经有jm在论坛上问过，cio的rationale是什么？反对者认为，宝宝在经历创伤以
后会入睡，这就是它的rationale.
“宝宝在黑暗中醒来......开始大声嚎哭，她的嗓子哭得发痛，太阳穴一跳一跳的，在
耳朵里轰轰回响......然而没人理她，宝宝哭累了，只好睡了...”
“我们不应该用这种冷漠无情的方式对待任何一个人类，何况是你最珍爱的孩子。”

我看完此书后决定不采用CIO.曾经尝试过，personally I felt it heart-wrenching.

发帖数: 558 | 40 新手不明前后因果，也不太能分辨出谁是大牛谁不是。单就事论事的说两句：
1，我觉得跟风 大忽悠 或者 大牛 然后赔钱的蝌蚪、青蛙啥的，其实也不用入股市，
更不用赔了钱怨人骂人。自己的钱自己不做好研究，不动脑子，不负责任，一味红了眼
得跟风，理应赔赚自负的。我非常非常讨厌一些无聊没事儿说反话、忽悠人、骗人、放
烟幕弹的内心阴暗歪曲的id，但“青蛙蝌蚪被误导而赔钱”不足以作为打倒他们的支撑。
2，有些人可能炒股真的挺牛的，但在版上神神叨叨的，一天发几个帖子，说“看，老
娘／老子赚了多少，服不服？？”，又说“看我前几天算的走势，预测准不准！”。也
不说点实用的可以让人受惠的东西，白瞎了那用来挪鼠标、按左键、开网页、扫一眼、
scroll down、再关网页的那三秒钟。论坛嘛，脑残和令人敬佩的人都有，倒也没法儿
看谁不顺眼就对人赶尽杀绝之类的。不过做股票再高手，脑残的话也没药医。
3，有些人太看重结果了，不注意学习别人用什么信息来源、什么手段、什么rationale
／theory做分析，看别人的结论不准确，就骂骂咧咧。智商捉急。（说这句话的前提是
，炒股不是rocket science）

PCP就是今天有这么个别人，做为护士，要怎么照顾，什么是priority？然后再124567.
...............列出一步一步要做什么，最要命的是rationales，每周我要花4、5个
小时找这个，比方这周的病人是心脏病，我要一直monitor病人的氧气脉搏心跳，我们
要从书上找出哪页书上说了为什么要monitor这些。这个是简单的，有的rationale真能
要命，最夸张的是经常一小时也找不到一个合适的 |

displaying other images through the use of scroll keys doesn't work on Apple
's phone，因为iPhone没有scroll key.
反过来，
swipe to display other images on iPhone doesn't work on Samsung's phone with
scroll keys either (vice versa)
所以判定Apple没有侵权。
但是他如果把这个rationale generalized to other patents 是不对的。It's time

rationale of this characteristic of people, if there is any? What can be the
implication of that rationale?

发帖数: 2109 | 47 嗨，其实做到20几道题的时候，我心里就完全是小鹿乱撞了，根本没有感觉，很少的
rationale加上百分之六七十的直觉在猜，每道题都这样。做到50几道的时候，我真的
已经很放弃了。几乎没有题目的答案是确定的，硬在挣着想，却越想不出任何
rationale. 就当自己是个点鼠标的机器吧，总得硬着头皮把机器给的题目都点完啊。
幸好75道的时候机器停了，我是真的不行了，管它过了没过，要是再多坐那儿一分钟，
我真有把自己一下结果了算了的冲动。走出考场，开始给同学打电话，大家说的当然都
是positive的话了，反正她们按我描述的种种情形猜测，都说我会过。说什么人人走出
考场后的感觉都是觉得肯定是死定了。但是我自己知道，对于那些题目，我是真的不会
啊，加上很多语感和词汇的问题，我觉得和美国人相比，就算大家都是蒙，我蒙对的几
率也比她们小很多啊。反正是心如死灰了。不过我这人就这点好，心如死灰，但是该干
嘛照干，反正考过就先仍一边吧。所以情绪上也没受啥影响。只是得点空闲的时候就在
心理上准备自己再考一次吧。
应该是今早出成绩的，可是一同学告诉我他的成绩出来的比原定时间早，于是我从昨晚
就开始刷屏了。 |

发帖数: 1158 | 48 我来给这件事一个结尾。我当天给老师email，几天后她回了，说接受我的challenge (
challenge? oh my god)，并给了这么个解释:
"After listening to the rationale from a few students, I have decided to
accept June 5th & June 6th as the correct date for Nagel’s Rule.
Rationale: If LMP was August 29, conception had to occur 2nd week of
Sept. Missed period occurs in Sept. First completed month of pregnancy would
be October. Nine months from Oct is June."
天，这不是Nagel's Rule ，不过，我找回了分数也就做罢了。需要说明的是老师没有
敲错字，她说的很清楚接受５／５／１１和５／６／１１两个答案。 |

classroom). 有在线rationale but personally I think the rationale is just so
so.
登录id和密码都必须一样. I am not sure 不同ip同时登
录. If you are both interested, you guys can share the cost and the time,
but I don't care. |

sur text book and fundamental of nursing textbook to look for rationales.
Once you finished one care plan, and got the feed back from your instructor,
you will know what is expected, then you will feel confident for the future
ones. |
