是个很有意义的估算，让大家知道max contribution + investing (100% stock or 60
/40 最后是什么结果。
LZ的例子其实最值得我们学的， 不是他投资了什么，investment return是多少，这都
不重要，他投的都是company的plan, 100% equity,没有什么特别的。重要的是这位大
哥的discipline and perseverance, 即使在大跌的时候还一如既往地investing, 这是
绝大部分的人都做不到的。

When educators talk about character-building for children, they typically
talk about these following qualities:
resilience
patience
persistence and perseverance
optimism
confidence
kindness and compassion
and maybe a few other traits.
So when I talk about my goal of education, these above qualities, plus
integrity are what I aim for. If my child can grow up having these qualities

最近在看一本书"Rasing Your Spirited Child"提到了一种叫做spirited的类型人，要
花很多很多时间去改变和适应一种新的东西。完全正常的人，非常坚持去dig dig +
analysis. 作者用好的词来描述persistent, perseverance,很多大众用负面词“
stubborn”.没有什么对错，就是一种天生的性情而已。需要的时间。
我回了很多帖子，顶来顶去，帖子终于上了本版置顶，希望父母能够早日注意早日干预
，如过不幸落入这个范围，这个goal达到了就行了。也算是某种程能度符合这种
sprited的特征。

时间翻译了，大家凑着看吧。她有个感想我是比较赞同的，就是人容易把政治和文化混
在一起，失去真正的分辨力。
她有个PAPER 对比文化对早期教育的影响： 到高中的时候西方教育所谓的兴趣不再
WORK了，学生辍学率开始上升，中式教育开始有优势，学生把学习当成挑战坚持下来了
升学率高。有时间给大家翻出来。

不错liberal education 的材料。我个人也觉得这是个不错的旅游companion:)

虽然 Elise 爬了大藤，而且成绩很出色(Women’s Leadership Award Winner，
graduated with honor)，但她也是移民第二代，在高中就是共和党的铁杆支持者并参
加高中的共和党基层组织。在哈佛大概学的是政治（没查出来），不容易。不可否认她
的哈佛经历，对她从政有很大帮助。比如她和面书创始人扎克是同学，还是第一批使用
面书的成员之一（当年所有的哈佛在校生）。但靠一己之力，以一个移民后代的身份进
军国会山，就是一个美国梦。
哈佛出了现总统，也可能再出一个美国的女总统（第一个不一定是希拉里，如果 ELISE
步奥巴马后尘，直接上最高舞台的话）。
她的父母是商人，没上过大学。估计当时录取进哈佛，这些都是优点。哈佛看对了人，
她的确有 leadership。
