Your idea of 8' per mile is wrong : for a world class athlete, able running
5 km at 2'35" per km, or HM at 2'48" per km, running slower than 4' per km

has its own advantages. for amateur players, it is a very good training
process to develop flat serve. because of its low percentage, you have to be
very strict on your balance, toss, the whole kinetic chain etc. this will
be very help for the developments of other services. as for low percentage
shots, there are so many others in tennis, serving towards lines is one as

tennis:-). It is indeed good stuff for strong 3.5 and weak 4.0. It tells you
when to exert with force (for high percentage shots), when to be more
careful (for low percentage shots), and where to anticipate the incoming
balls. Most people (like myself) know some of it intuitively, but not all
