发帖数: 160 | 9 我的情况是这样的：NIH 的科研课题申请在PAYLINE里，今年6月开会决定给钱。PO告诉
我说基本不会有问题的。现在的问题是，我刚刚拿到另外一所大学的OFFER，已经签约
了。由于各种原因，这个课题是不会带走的。我的科研小组里有一个在同一个系的美国
同事是CO-PI（15%FTE），一个外系的中国同事是CO-I(5%)。前不久我们和学校主管科
研项目的OFFICER开会，基本确定了我可以带走部分的基金付我的工资和差旅费用。我
早就同意给这个美国同事增加至30%，让他改成PI,而自己则从30%降至15%，改成CO-PI
。我觉得自己够实在的了，整个项目从头到尾都是我写的，初稿就写了2个月，修改了
15次后投了得了20多分，没中；修改版也是我在做，去年10月投，现在中了。整个申请
过程，都是我做的，他倒是在修改过程中给了一些中肯的意见。现在问题来了，昨天和
这个美国同事谈可能要改的预算，他总觉得我带走多了，连机票，住宿这些都要斤斤计
较，我当场不好发作，没有说不好听的话，只是实事求是讲了我的需求。回来后，觉得

of 10 recieved below .5%. I have them to use as template for my grants.
It depends on your study section. My department has a pretty wide field, I
have seen grants with all 2s barley getting scored. I asked the PI and he
told me you need mostly 1s to get funded. My study section 20 is 3% and 1s
according to senior faculties who served on the same study section are
rarely given.

fund一定数量的新grant,所以nih会想尽办法来保证一定的数量.
至于8% budget cut,根据国会1月1号的表现,应该是不会让这个cut实施的.不过,因为
nih budget还没有通过,他们现在用的CR 3月份到期.过了3月,他们就会有budget了. |

lot of grants in a year and hope something sticks. 2. You submit your best
work with a lot of data backing it up and publications.
Personally, I believe my chairman is type 1, and I believe that's why he is
always wanting the junior investigators to submit (and submit and submit).
With one revision limit, I think this approach will get investigators into

我还看了另外几个所的payline, 大部分都是10以内了，NCI (7), NIAID (8)， NICHD
（5）。其中最让我大吃一惊的是NHLBI， 居然已经缩减到6了。我以前记得这个所还是
稍微容易一点的。 |

preliminary data，申请的人多。而R01是需要convincing的preliminary data to
support your research objectives.
申请NIH课题是要耐得住寂寞，需要时间和经验的积累。尽快payline在10%上下，有的
人很高，有的人很低。我的感觉是如果你自己都感觉你的proposal is not ready，就
不要递交，因为只有两次机会。并不是说，我们递交的多，拿到的几率就大。对于刚入
职的申请者，最好请你周围的一个大牛作Co-I，或consultant。 |

，虽然几乎肯定会被cut budget
A0是2011年初交的，当时percentile>40%, 大家都觉得没什么希望，一直拖着直到今年
4月才resubmit, 交的时候也不抱多大希望。
所以proposal要多写，交上去总是有希望的。 |

investigators)!!! I was in the SFN national meeting NIH question and answer
section, all NIH POs told the new investigators not to apply for R21. You
know what's funny, a junior PI said his seniors told him to try R21 and said
NIH POs are wrong during the Q&A section. I guess that PI is in the wrong
business and the greatest mistakes is listening to wrong advises.
