基本情况是这样的：学生去年秋季刚入学，本科毕业直接过来的，国内的重点院校，
本科成绩系里名列前茅，小姑娘看上去挺懂事，也挺认真，我是她导师。
去年修了这位教授一门课，结果期末的论文教授发现有几处和原文一样，
没有paraphrase但是没有用quotation marks, 然后教授倾向于以“抄袭”为由
上报给学校。
其实教授人挺好的，但是也挺较真的，尤其在ethics这方面。
说破了大天讲了四十多分钟的电话才答应做incapability处理，给一C
但是要重修这门课。
然后刚刚在十大推荐文章发现有个学生complain 导师“跟斗争似的上纲上线”
其中一条也是有plagarism的问题。
觉得这个问题中国学生和美国老师的perception gap挺大的。以前有中国学生
comprehensive exam也曾有美国同事怀疑抄袭，因为有些文字和课本上一样。
我常常要说明这是因为中国孩子从小的学习方式就是背课文，可能觉得用自己的话
不准确。但的确如他们所说，用原文不是不可以，但是 |

)，先都copy进自己的draft，用粗体标出是copy进来的，然后各种cite各种paraphrase
，各种从里面编story。
正文里描述自己的results的时候，就用同领域有名的good writer的文章，一句句套，
什么"numerous studies have documented...""to investigate possible
explanations..."这样写起来很费时间。我们领域文章大概30页，我有了result后光写
就要起码20天，每天8小时那样。
但是我试过自己凭空写，不参考good writer的文章，然后结果惨目忍睹. |

现在的这个框是在异国他乡度过的22岁到29岁这段人生最美丽的时光。

书不太一样。但其实是同步的，自己找找看就好。个人比较推荐，可以用来复习，检验
。不过没有什么游戏，这点不如巧兔识字。
btw，同意某id的话，记性不好，paraphrase一下，我们现在和十几年前或者几年前的
条件不一样，有中文学校，各种中文书籍，动画片，软件游戏等等。
所以学好中文不是没有可能，和大家共勉。
当然，别人因为时间精力有限，不推中文，也很能理解。毕竟每个人的priority不一样

不错，像我听郭德纲的相声不看字幕的话也不能完全听懂。其实英语听力水到渠成自然
会好的。我觉得人在美国的最大优势是有语言环境练口语。其实国内年轻人有心的话不
必来美英语听力也可以练得很好，因为美剧随便在线看，还有双语字幕。我现在日常听
力基本没问题，没听懂的话顶多一句“come again"对方就会paraphrase一下。但是
要我同一样内容exactly和对方说得一样地道，还是有难度。我觉得口语的丰富性，逻
辑性，准确性和地道程度，才能说明一个non-native-speaker的英语水平。我在美的第
一个专业是纯文科，作业基本就是看书和写paper，还要在seminars上长篇大论发言，
所以那会儿的英文水平是最好的。后来换专业，人犯懒觉得英语够用就行了，就没再抓

选，四月上旬四处发信问询并最终确定人选，五个推荐人，包括两个全独立推荐人(一

始写推荐信草稿，到六月中旬基本完工，但没有发给推荐人，接着开始着手petition
letter。七月完成authorship 部分，同时相应的修改推荐信。八月中旬，petition
letter 基本完成，推荐信draft发给推荐人，四封一周内收回，另外那封院士老先生的
，要求重新写，说有太多吹捧之词，于是删除所有赞美之辞，改用平实的叙述性语言，
加强事实部分，老先生对这一版很满意，很快就sign并寄出。八月最后一周，集中整理
