maybe run some race pace miles for half marathon case.
definitely some miles at race pace are needed in long run. Then again, the
first time you run 20 miles long run, just finish at the pace that you can
finish, later you can afford to run it with some race pace miles.

今晚又跑了个8K tempo,有朋友建议按照想要的半马pace(4:15/km)来跑,于是试了一下。8.01KM, 总时间 33:56, pace 4:14/km (6:48/mile)。第3K和第7K最慢,pace分别为4:19/km 和 4:22/km。
怎样练才能让tempo run跑的更轻松些?准备半马的tempo run最长应该跑多长?

Perhaps I should clarify a bit more. When I say slowing down, it's mostly in
recovery runs and some mid long runs. If you look at my log, my long runs
are often the fastest run of the week -- for instance, even though I'd run
sub 6:40 in tempo runs, it averages to maybe 7:30 pace when warm up and cool
down are included. My long runs on the other hand often average to 7:2X or
even 7:1X pace. But I don't try to go out fast in long runs. I normally take

今天总算报告结束,好爽啊!!!!
整个寒假算了七八十页东西,最后总结出二十多页,反复折腾了一个多月,前天弄完后
,这两天算是有
了个交待,晚上9点结束的presentation,结束的那一刻,好轻松,但是今天只是中午
游泳了,晚上
报告耽误了跑步,于是出去跑步,今天一开始就感觉跑的挺快的,而且轻松,pace一度
到5分40,后来
就一直稳定在6分15到6分40之间,而且我觉得我能舒服的跑更快,只是路上还是有点冰
,而且天黑得注
意点。。
最后5miles 32:05.72

跑完后,这么多天积攒的压力几乎都释放了,呵呵

原来一直以为只有PR的成绩和PACE才会真正另自己开心,昨天的比赛,非常意外的发现
,原来任何PACE都可以让你开心,让你快乐让你high,说不清楚到底为什么,也许是我
的endorphin released比较多,比自己PR慢一个小时,居然可以跑的如此之开心,如
此之high,一直high到现在,i am just so happy,i can't help!!!
这种感觉简直帅呆了!
一路跑的非常放松,心跳一直都在150以下,所以今天心脏的感觉和CIM之后的那种虚弱
是完全不一样的。
感谢老天所有的坡都在前半程爬完了,如果坡在后半称那我大概要DNF了。
第一次看到了Oakland hills的豪宅,第一次比赛带了手机;第一次比赛的时候要上洗
手间;第一次比赛吃了如此之多的gu和chew和乱七八糟的以至于跑完到家一称居然比跑
前重两磅;第一次跑步的时候发短信,而且发了6-7个;第一次跑比赛一路听着自己的
音乐;一切都非常美好,很开心能顺利跑完全程,很幸运没有撞墙;很开心又拿到一次
全马的经验。
回家后立即去按摩2小时,今天感觉还不错。

well, Daniel Komen ran 2 miles at sub 4 minute pace. Nobody, not Komen,
Gebrelassie, nor Bekele, ever came close to doing that in the 5K.
If 2 miles @ 5:00 pace is your limit, then you will never be able to run 3 miles at that pace in your life. At this
level, at some point you will find that you just cannot improve any more, no matter how hard you train.
5:00 pace is pretty damn hard because it is close or exceeds the genetic limit on the aerobic ability for most
people.

pace strategy是个非常复杂的东西,你可以给自己定一个大致的范围,但是没法定一个
精确的范围。要跑出超预期的水平就一定要冒险,要拼搏,很多时候都是在自己不确信
可以达到的pace上开始的,结果最后拼下来。要pacing就是要掂量好自己到底有多少斤
两,然后还需要一些运气,就是最后被自己拼下来了的运气。否则比赛完以后,看看还
有余力的自己,一定会很后悔为什么中间没有push得更厉害一些。
我想对于我来说,去年的那个比赛不会是我最快的,但是一定是我终身纪念的比赛。因
为我用了自己无法确信的速度跑完了比赛,而且前后半程的pace相差只有1分多钟。

You mean minus?
Half - 20 = 10k pace?
This would be very similar to what I calculated from the McMillan online
site.
They say in my case:
Half - 24 = 10k pace
Half - 39 = 5k pace
these are equivalent race paces they calculated.
According to that, my tempo should be Half - 8sec ~ Half - 24sec
My run yesterday averaged Half - 24sec. Felt moderately easy.
So maybe I can expect a PR in the next half race?

变叔说的是这样的,正确的训练同样的pace,心跳应该降低。。跑步的经济性应该提高
。同样的热量可以跑更远。。翻了翻训练的记录。。给个我的个人数据供像我一样的普
通人参考。。
第一个图是开跑后跑了350mi以后,参加的一个接力赛,这一棒5.5mi长,比较平,但是
天气热,干。
7'20”的平均pace,基本1mile后心跳都在190以上,最后50左右米冲刺了下到了200
第二个图是在第一个图以后跑了将近一年有1500mi。跑的一个10mi的平常训练,大概
900+ft的EG。平均pace在7‘18“,平均心跳在163,最大在175。图中的波动是两个上
下坡。。
静止心跳开始锻炼前65左右,现在50左右(这个休息不好对我影响较大)。我没有跑过
严格的测试看最大究竟是多大,第一个图是我逐步推上去的心跳,我觉得目前看来是
200。。所以我目前的训练都是争取绝大多数里程跑在150左右。。75%,争取不超过80%
,160。。首马在第一个图和第二个图的中间差不多时间跑的,平均心跳169 (85%)。
。gps pace 8‘02"。
另外,虽然我目前按心跳来训练,但是气温,身体劳累,肚子饿不饿都影... 阅读全帖

今天也试了一把。只做了100, 200, 400,没做到negative split, 但也没太大的减
速。
200Y暖身之后,100Y,pace 1:57; 休息 30秒,200Y, pace 1:59; 休息 1:00,
400Y的时候有点累,但还是坚持下来了,最后50Y还小冲了一把, pace 2:00; 休息 1
:15,最后以打酱油的姿态游了400Y,pace 2:06。感觉最后如果要做到800Y不减速,还
是很遥远的事。

brook的排名肯定是比pace好,可是据所SB的mba04年刚设立不怎么样,而pace的商科好

今天第一次戴910XT去跑步,发觉上面显示的实时Pace要比实际的快很多.例如实时Pace
总是在3-4分钟一公里,但到一公里Lap的时候显示用时5分多.5分多才是我低心
率跑的正常Pace.我目前只按心率跑到也无所谓,但如果比赛按Pace跑岂不是很坑爹吗.
我用过的305, 405都没有这个问题.无言同学,你的910有没有这个情况啊?

通常进不了baruch的才去pace 或有些人就喜欢读私立, 应为baruch便宜名声也比pace
好。
我就是baruch毕业的。他们的PT mba是全国有名的,但full time mba就排名不算高,
但肯定比pace好。老实说, 楼上的说的对,其实mba真的是分top 10 and others. 但
其实进top mba一点不难,其实光凭高gmat就可以搞定。不行的话就进它们不热门的
program后再转。 就花多一两年时间和钱。 但出来却是有很大的分别。 我不是top
mba 毕业,毕业后做5年才升到manager, 知道老板招人和升级确实是top mba是首选。
据我所知,在纽约的话进columbia 比较容易因为有很多不热门的program, 读一年后
, 转比较容易。

其实这个pace一般也可以说是easy pace.
为什么不跑快些呢?
1) 没办法跑快。跑快有时候和跑长是矛盾的
2) 没必要跑快。因为跑步训练好多人认为应该是在不同的zone. for long run.
应该主要放在距离上。不用跑太快 。
3) 跑快不利于恢复,也容易受伤 。for long run.
4) 当然也不是跑太慢。现在LSD 被大家猛批。hehe. 到后来或者中途适当增加速度

5) 速度训练也要做。但是单独作。比如interval, hills or tempo..

I'd say go 20-30 seconds slower than your target pace (7:25) in the first
couple miles, and pick up the pace
later if you feel good. If you feel strong in the final 10K, it would be
easy to make up the 40-60 seconds. But
if you run too fast a pace and collapse toward the end, you can easily lose
5-10 minutes in the final 10K.

ran easy at the first 9 miles, almost at recovery HR.

You think Haile Gebrselassie ever
finishes his tempo run at 4:05 pace? I don't think so. Ryan Hall does his 10
mile "tempo run" at 4:45, slower
than his HM pace, and not too much faster than his marathon pace.
On the other hand, I recall that your training style is to run a few quality runs each week and rest on the
other days. If that is the case, then it makes sense to do long runs harder. If you follow the AM plan and

On a regular training day even 1 mile at my 5K race pace would feel very
hard to me. 2 miles at 5K pace, I have never done it in training. To do 2
miles at 5K race pace at the end of a tempo run is physically impossible, in
the midst of a training week, when you are not peaking for a 5K race.

mindset also makes a big difference. Normally when I'm determined to run a
fast pace, the fast pace will feel
easy. If I'm unsure whether I can manage a fast pace, then it will often
feel hard.

you are training for 5K, but run 10 miles long run, or
you are training for 10K and run 12 miles long run, or
you are training for half marathon and run 16 miles long run
These cases mostly you don't need to run a lot at race pace in long run, maybe run some race pace miles for half marathon case.
For marathon, you won't be running long run longer than the race distance, definitely some miles at race pace are needed in long run. Then again

一般新手一两年内都搞不清effort level的,还是按pace/HR跑比较可行。
而且,我觉得按HR跑比按pace跑更好,因为HR包括了身体状况,地形,天气等因素了。
前提是需要知道max HR,大约就可以了,低个几点也不会亏的。
在以HR为主导的同时,再留意pace和effort level,慢慢搞清不同因素的影响,学会
run by feel。

看完了就知道根据各个目标, 训练的时候需要跑什么pace了。。。
BTW:感觉你基础非常好啊, 找个计划练一练, BQ易如反掌。。

昨天实行了冬令时,这对我来说无疑是个好消息!
我一般不调表,也就是说,相对地看,我多出了一个小时,早上上课就推迟了一小时,
于是乎我早上

不幸的是,我的手机的时间还是会变的,于是我的闹钟一律调到3:30AM。昨天在版上

半马全马report,深受刺激和鼓励啊XD。从中午开始carb load,吃大碗面条,下午一边
写paper
一边吃包子,芝麻饼,喝葡萄汁。晚上按夏令时11点就睡了。
早上按时3:30起床,吃了一个bagel,带上一个power bar,4:00AM开跑
carb load应该起作用了,而且感觉心肺从前天的tempo running恢复过来了,一路感觉
非常
easy,首先沿老路跑,然后开到高尔夫球场,接着返回,到linear park,路上就想着要

It depends on your training history.
10K pace + 60-75 s for long run pace is too fast for me. I can barely finish
a marathon on that pace unless I was doing really well.
Now I feel that long run can certainly train your muscle, your joints, and your
heart which are probably the low tech parts in a marathon race. Due to our
training volume and level, I doubt if we actually train our slow-twitch
fiber or ask fast-twitch fiber to gain some "slow" character in the muscle.

The biggest change in my training this fall has been that I really slowed
down when I needed to. My target marathon pace is between 6:50 and 7:00. In
long runs, I could be running anywhere between 8:40 and 6:40 pace. For most
part, my long run pace is between 7:10 and 7:50. On certain days I would try
to run fast. Other days I make sure that I run slowly enough.

这冬天的堪萨斯就喜欢刮大风,跑的过程中7miles都在迎面向大风跑。今天按计划是
easy running.
恩,确实比较easy.DRF说应该避免face the wind,恩,看样子以后还是得在很早的时
候跑,太阳没
出来最好,就没有风,或者太阳落山跑,一个很亮的头灯就是必须的了。最后cooling

今天天气本来很棒, 多云, 50-60F, 俺穿着背心短裤就出门了。
带了32oz的水, 只喝了大约24oz, 跑前131.2lb, 跑后128.4lb.
没有失多少水。 吃了3个GU, 跑前, 10迈, 15迈各一个。
今天状态感觉不错, 不过俺还是把手机带上了, 怕万一悲剧还能
呼叫LD。 中间跑了一半居然乌云密布, 然后开始下雨了, 俺的手
都快冻麻木了, 哆哆嗦嗦的吃GEL, 喝水。 还好下了一阵子, 太
阳又出来了。 一路基本感觉都很舒服, 心跳也很低, 最后大下坡

第一次用405cx,因为跑步中间要等红灯,所以画出来pace的话,会有spikes,导致
pace的坐标轴太大(-15min to 1:15min),看不出来差别了。如果把这些pace的spikes
去掉啊?
另外,我都不好意思拿图出来,跑的特慢不说,心跳都180左右。

今天中午和公司同事一起去跑bay trail, 刚出发的时候还没有下雨,没想到慢慢开始
下开了。 天气很凉爽。 可惜的是忘了带表和心率带, 索性就放开了跑了。 回程开始
加速, 估计到7分半的pace,感觉不错。 第一次用7分40的平均pace跑了5mile, 心跳
和呼吸都正常, 而且还在后半程超了老美同事。下面的目标该是7分半pace跑6mile了

就算你马拉松跑12分的pace,也不用在别人的帖子里非得说出来吧
人家9分多pace 20迈跑的好好的,我们就说个事实,说比赛差不多也能跑这个pace,你

我开始LHR的时候,我easy run的pace都是 8:30, 但是为了达到心跳不超过180-age
, 我必须用11分钟,到了10迈的最后部分,都是12分钟的pace挪动。
现在我180-年龄,在训练高潮的时候,已经是7分钟多的pace了。

我说凭感觉的意思是全程的pace要根据前两三迈的感觉定,全程pace当然还是要稳定,
不能忽快忽慢。主要考虑是我们这些跑全程比赛少的人,根据训练来估计自己的target
pace非常不准确。
